Warwick Schiller is the best. He is constantly learning and sharing. There is no one like him. He is state of the art and 100% puts the horse's physical and mental well being first! He is also a highly successful competitor and clinician.

I ADORE Warwick Schiller-I think of him as the Zen Master of Horsemanship and Life together. Following Warwick’s YT channel and his phenomenal podcast (called Journey On) is like a master class in horsemanship and humanism at the same time. He reminds me of the old folktale The Superlative Horse, if anyone happens to know that, where the eye the man has to find superlative horses sees only into the horse and is not concerned with exterior things. I knew there was a good reason for following you to Joseph. It was so kind of you to point your audience in Warwick’s direction. The whole world would be a better place if we walked along with Warwick Schiller. Thank you for your continued generosity too :)

I saw that little gem about mouth movement recently and applied it to when I'm on board. I sat quietly, my sentinel self, not pushing my tense little mare about or allowing her to push me about and patiently waited for her to settle her mouth, for her to think that maybe, just maybe I'm worth listening to after all. It made me think about the unsettled mouths one often sees in the dressage arena, clearly horses not convinced that the person sitting on them is someone to be trusted. If you haven't seen it, watch it. Warwick is awesome and glad this guy can see it too.

Warwick Schiller is one of the best horseman of this generation. It's about the horse, not him. He's open to learning and changing his methods if need be which speaks volumes for his integrity as a horseperson and trainer. I've even heard him say he was wrong- not too many horse trainers will do that! I'm happy you appreciate his expertise and willingness to share it.

Warwick is an upstanding horseman. I love that he keeps improving on his methods and not just echoing the same old same old.

After my horse died I figured I was done with horses at the age of 70. Then I stumbled across Warwick's videos on YT during the plandemic.. I loved his videos and really wanted to try out what he was teaching but I only had a mini mule at that time. So I used the mini mule to practice on. He had had a hard life prior to coming to my place and I had pretty much left him alone until he became my guinea pig. What a transformation he underwent! A few months later I bought an older Haflinger gelding to continue my journey with Warwick's teaching with great results. So thankful for YT making it possible to share such fantastic content from Warwick and others like him.🤩

I whole heartedly agree he is a philosopher as well as horseman a very rare breed these days. I had the privilege of working with a old horseman he sat and contemplated while watching horses on the walker and would share his philosophy of life as well as knowledge of horse training. Thank you and Warwick for sharing. I love how you are so non- plused when a horse 7:41 spooks❤❤

Couldn't agree more! I can say enough about Warwick Schiller and how he changed my perspective on so many aspects of horsemanship and just being with a horse. One of my favorite lessons from him was the whole idea of matching your steps with the horse, especially when you're out hand-grazing them. It really seems like it builds some sort of connection with the horse -- hard to explain but it works. I also love how he says "Sometimes, it's OK if the horse says No at first, especially if he is scared." I might add: You are like him in many ways, Mr. Joseph Newcomb. :)

I loved Warwick's videos of training from the beginning, a big black, unbelievably-great-naturally-moving stud horse. I don't remember if the horse was a dressage or a jumping stud. I'll have to go back and catch it again.

You can easily tell who the good teachers are by their authenticity and honest desire to find the best solutions whether they be for horsemanship, personal development, or both. Warwick Schiller is definitely one of the better and most approachable of those teachers today.

Hi Jo. I'm Keala' s neighbor. Iv also been following Warwick for several years and, like you, I find his 'Principles of Training' to be invaluable. You've probably seen me looking like I'm not doing anything with my young Arabians over the fence😂 Now you know, I'm STTDP (sticking to the damn plan). Its really good to see high-level professionals like you endorsing attuned horsemanship.

I agree Warwick is awesome! Have you got his book, it’s very good? My friend and I talk about the direction he’s taken in the last couple years, the subtle relationship stuff, and mammalian nervous system discussions. I think it’s eye opening and important to incorporate while working with horses. That said, and I hope I can articulate this clearly. We can’t forget that Warwick has trained many horses with traditional Natural Horsemanship methods for years and years. In that time he’s developed a really good sense of what, where and how his body moves around horses. He’s got good timing of release, balance. What I’m saying is he has a great foundation and he can’t help but use so much of that when he works with a horse as it should be, I’m not criticizing him at all. But I’ve seen some people seem to want to throw out the old Natural Horsemanship methods and just work on the relationship aspect of training. I think this not good and some folks will get hurt. I think both aspects are important. I watched a recent video of his and he alluded to that very thing. He basically said when he works on the relationship end he has to do less to accomplish his goals with the horse. I hope I’ve explained myself well, I’m a fan of his not a critic. I’m just seeing some folks going that direction completely. I’ve also been watching you for years. I think I started watching you when you posted the series on training a horse to Piaffe in hand, that was very good. Another great trainer is Pat Puckett, he’s a student of the Vaquero Californio tradition. Keep up the good work, cheers!
