Today on Acrylic Pouring with Friends - Art by Tracie Reed I am doing a Swipe painting using ‪@DecoArtPaint‬ Enchanted Acrylic Paint, and wow! This is the best interference acrylic paint for acrylic pouring!
This acrylic pour painting demonstration is intended to be an overview of the Swipe Painting. If you would like to learn more about acrylic pouring, discuss how to use this technique, feel free to leave a reply in the comment section below, and I will answer.
The paints I used today:
DecoArt Enchanted Iridescent Topcoat- Blue, Turquoise, Violet, and Gold
Custom Metallic Turquoise for the base
Amsterdam Lamp Black for my cell activator
My paints are mixed with my pouring medium, which is 50% Liquitex pouring medium, 40% Floetrol, 5% Golden GAC800 and 5% water.
No silicone was added.
Cell activator: 1 tsp paint to 3 Tbsp Australian Floetrol

Really awesome! I only have the violet but I've used it straight out of the bottle to embellish a part of my painting. I also have the FA dragonfly and they play well together. I love the effects you got with the Aussie floetrol. It's really stunning over the peacock pearl.🤗💜💛💚💙💜

Cool,thanks,bought some interferace(ct),lol...lot to learn,just looked like white on swatch. Never heard of them till found in store,or activator til now....all together with the paints makes me think of dragonfly wings😊

Tracie, this is awesome, I have the Liquitex pouring fluid gloss and varnish, green label. Can that be used same as pouring medium in grey label bottle! Which do you use???

Thank you Patricia 🥰 . Yes The gloss medium and varnish can be used the same as the regular pm. I use the regular pm most, but I have used the gloss medium and varnish when I ran out of the regular pm.

Thank you. The DecoArt Enchanted paints are similar to Amsterdam pearl paints. I think the Enchanted paints are bit more vibrant though. I have used both an prefer Decoart for that reason.

Tracie I have a question about the cloud pour mix. Are your proportions by weight or volume? Like the 2 oz satin enamel, 2 oz Floetrol, etc Getting ready to try the Cloud Pour with the berry and 24k gold. I also bought some of the enchanted shimmer paint and will try those next.

Hi, Beautiful colors, what was the ratio of paint to pm? I only see the swipe paint ratio listed.

Thank you. I didn't use exact measurements. More like eyeballing 😆😉. But, if I had to guess, I think it was about 1-2 tsp of pm to 1 oz of paint 😊.

Hi Tracie. Since you use DecoArt products, thought I’d ask if you’ve used Triple Thick Gloss Glaze? I found it when trying to find Tri Art Liguid Glass. Not sure of the application

Sorry, I have not used the triple thick glaze to seal my paintings. I do know, It's a bit heavy so make sure you have support under your canvas.
