Shoutout to everyone chasing the dream. Since last year I've cleaned up my act, living more frugally and am halfway towards the deposit I need to buy my first house. I know some people have billions and can invest in amazing watches but for me to stop renting is a huge deal and I'm very proud of myself because I know I can get there. UPDATE: That Rolex Hulk was discontinued by Rolex this year at Basel World. The resale value (overnight) went from 12-14K to 17-25K depending on reference year.

My Submariner model 1680 has gone up significantly in value. I still wear it every day, and would highly recommend any of the older Submariners. It is not flashy. Can be dressed up or down, and overall is a fantastic timepiece.

I have the exact same 20 yr old Rolex Sub in steel. I think the key to a watch retaining its value is maintaining the service of the watch. If you don’t maintain the watch it will degrade and lose the crisp operation of the watch. It is always great to see Seth and learning from his background. An entertaining episode, Michael, but I would have loved to hear more about the Patek’s and Rolexes test were highly collectible.

Does inflation not exist? How can something “hold value” if it’s price remains the same over a 20 year period.

I bought my slightly used Submariner with ceramic bezel and date 4 years ago for 6k.I was going to take the Daytona next to it for $9500. Now my submariner is going for 10k and the Daytona for 18k. Il never sell any of my watches but its cool to see it not only look the same but to be worth more.

Don't let this fool you, watches are almost never a good means of investment outside of a small handful of models that increased in value because of marketing. Consider that if you buy a watch as an investment, you can't use it, meaning you can't enjoy it. Plus, watches require servicing and care. It's easy for Michael and the store owners to hold them, but they're highly educated on the subject and enjoy/do it professionally. Plus, Michael is friends with store owners that will sell it to him for a fair price. In reality, you will be very hard pressed to find non-shady dealers who will sell you without a high premium.

Honestly I've just been looking for a reason to buy a watch that I can't afford, and I think this might be it.

This is a great tutorial video and echoes my experience buying a good popular Rolex, a humble Daytona bi metal with steel dial new for £4,400 while in Toronto in 2002 and now I've been offered £8-8500. I wear it most days and it's nice to know its also a good investment piece. I also keep everything nice, box, certificate and receipt. I'm kind of fussy that way.

It is a great investment, I bought a SS/gold jubilee band Rolex 25 years ago for $2500, I used it all those 25 years and I sold it for $4000 last year. Another GMT Master I Pepsi I bought for $4500 used about 5 years ago and sold it last year for $6500, it is a win win situation..

I have had a bad go with watches , I am 53 and bough a $600 Citizen Eco Drive t 200 mtrs wr and the max of my budget I loved it . Approx 2 weeks later I helped my dad lift a lounge through his back door and scratched it deeply on the brick work. It was never the same so I took it to a pawn shop and got $90 for it ,and I had the papers and certificate for it.Then my Bro bought me a Rolex ,I guess copy and when I put my jacket on ,the sleeve had a zipper on it and my fault, It went over the winder and as I stretched my arms it pulled the winder pin out and I didn't know .Now that watch is sitting in front of me now . I have only worked as a shit kicker but I do have have a lot of valuable hobbies but always sell too cheep as I have health issues ..We will leave it at that .Your videos are fantastic ,please keep them coming Kind Regards ,Bradley..

There was a waiting list for the Rolex Daytona, 15 - 20 years ago.

The jeweler that sold me my first Rolex about twenty years ago told me that if you buy a Rolex, you will never lose money. Thus far my two tone Rolex Sub with the diamond dial and blue sapphire 6, 9, 12 was around $5,000. I’m certain that I could get that today! I’ve worn it carefully and to date I don’t have a scratch on it and have loved every minute I wore it. Michael, Seth, you have been spot on with you advice the entire time you have had the channel.

I bought a 2010 2 tone diamond dial daytona new for 13.5k. sold it this year for 25k. I wore the hell out of my Rolex watch for 10 years and sold it for a 11.5k profit. Can't go wrong with Rolex.

If you wear that old submariner (5 digit) you have so much more style because it's a lot more elegant then the bulky new one imo.

Speaking recently with a great collector he told me that the little appreciated 2005 prince collection will be the strong point of future investment for rolex ... Hi Michael it’s Paul from Melbourne Australia, just went to a Rolex and other brands dealer in new and used watches, a used with box and papers never worn 2022 Rolex submariner the shop is asking $35,000 Australian dollars. My jaw dropped. That’s $26,038 USD, Brand new on is just under $13,000 Australian and just under $10,000 USD. My life dream is a Rolex watch. Love yours and Adams work.
