I bought the MX Mechanical with brown switches today. I type for a living, so I was a bit skeptical and unsure if I would like it after years of using Cherry MX Brown switches - and I already love them. I literally want to type all the time. I also got the MX Master 3S a couple of days ago - I literally lifted it from the table and kissed it when I was working on an Excel sheet with tons of columns.

Thank you for doing a sound test between the mechanical and rubber keys. Definitely feel that even their "quiet" version is not much quieter than the linear normal mechanical keyboard so I am going with their ergonomic k860 keyboard instead as it is pretty quiet and works with the new bolt receiver (i just wish it had backlighting). They should have used silent red/pink switches on their quiet version. Their new Lift mouse also seems to be even quieter than the already quiet master 3s so I am glad they are going the quiet route :)

I bought this Keyboard... I love it. Going too stick with my MX Master 3 instead of upgrading to the S. But I can't get the logi software to load on my Mac Mini. How did you get it to work? Am I missing a step?

as both the keboard and the mx 3 mouse are both master series. cant we configure the mouse and keyboard in logitech options software somewhere so that when you click the button on the keyboard it automatically sync the mouse along with the mx keys keboard - configration > Can you please research that and advise. I think it can be done as these 2 are both MX series. Its the flow circuti bru. It can be done.

I just bought the new MX Master S and it's great! People should know though, their older MX Keys keyboard won't work with the new Logitech Bolt receiver they give you. At the moment I have both receivers installed on my computer. I'm not really feeling the mechanical keyboard so I'm hoping they come out with a thin keyboard like the one I use now.

you don’t need the unified connector to take advantage of the button customization. That’s supposed to work even with the Bluetooth although I have heard people having problems with the 3S with that working

I just bought the keyboard and mouse and they are so much fun to use. The keyboard is super comfortable and fast to type on, and the mouse is glorious for work. Even with bluetooth, they both work seamlessly! Plus, Best Buy in USA has a promotion right now where if you trade in your old keyboard/mouse, you get a 20% off coupon for any logitech keyboard or mouse they sell. So it works out really welll!

is it safe to assume that both MX mechanical keyboard and MX master 3s can use one dongle/usb for light bolt connection? Not in bluetooth mode?

Day 2 with this keyboard and I have a aches. I bought the mx palm rest but it’s not tall enough. Tried using my Razer palm rest and it’s to tall. Might be taking this one back.

hello, great video! I would like to ask: if I have an MX master 3 at the moment and I get the keyboard, the mouse receiver will work for the keyboard as well? no need for 2 USB slots?

How did you feel about the super-fast backlight timeout? I've reached out to Logitech and they agree the fast timeout is unacceptable. It's not clear if/when there will be a feature added to Options+ to adjust the backlight. I returned the MX Mechanical and MX Keys both for the same reason. It's a major design flaw that hinders usability and ruins the experience if you work in a dim or dark room.

@@PeteMatheson Yes, that's what I would describe as the timeout. I believe they set it short to allow them to publish very long battery life numbers. But I found the light was turning off way too soon, and it made it harder to get into position and resume typing. I contacted Logi support and they agreed it appears to be a defect which diminishes the value of the product. I know it was an intentional decision but I think it's a massive UX design oversight.

It would be great to see a video about you combining different computers (mac and pc) with the same peripherals. Are you using caldigit ts4 for your pc as well?

Yes there's a software which helps get through this bottleneck especially if you're a developer you need to constantly switch from a pc to another.

For your wrist ache, as you're coming from a lower profile non-mechanical keyboard, you will be working your muscles on top on your wrist over the back of your hand to pull your hands and fingers up higher than you're used to. It will ease with time, but you can also use a wrist rest to elevate your wrists allowing your hands and fingers to remain more horizontal while typing.

Left shift button is very short. It's very difficult to use some shortcuts especially under programming. After few hours I feel fingers pain. Function FN button is on the right side. This is not ergonomic. On every keyboard this button is on the left side.

I don't use wireless keyboards and mouse, but I love these , as they are cheaper than what Apple or Microsoft sells.

It didn't go away until I switched keyboards! Don't get me wrong, this is a lovely keyboard to type on but, yeah, maybe it's just not for me long-term!

@@PeteMatheson Sort of. When the backlighting is off the keycaps are low contrast and very difficult to see in lower light. The time out on the backlighting is VERY fast and there's no way to set it for a longer period or set it to always on. People in forums have been complaining about this for over a year, nothing from Logitech.

Really nice keyboard and I much prefer using it than my MX Master, but the pinging I’m experiencing on a lot of the keys after not even a month of usage is pretty disappointing

Not sure what’s up with the number of views :) the video is out for 6 hours and has 200 views 🤔 I am considering to get MX Master 3S, still not sure though if it worth buying 3S as a replacement for 3 basically just for the sake of more quiet clicks. Was not impressed by keyboard, I’m spoiled by more enthusiast level mechanical keebs. But basically, you can get some low-profile Keychron for half the price and it will be the same experience except Logi Bolt.

Logitech released a very quiet mouse without quiet mechanical keyboard. So sad, it would have been the perfect combo. Hope that the next iteration of the quiet version of the mechanical keyboard will be so quiet as the 3s is.

The brown is no louder than any membrane keyboard. In fact quieter than many.

If you don't like the height, don't try a Keychron. Just need to find a low-ish wrist rest and it's perfect. But Logitech should have released one of their own just like they have with the standard MX Keys.
