The IETS GT500 V2 is the absolute best laptop cooling pad that money can buy today in 2023. This laptop cooler was able to absolutely transform an older overheating laptop into running better than it did the day it was bought just 7 years ago.
About 8 months back, we bought the top ten best-selling laptop cooling pads according to Amazons best seller list, and tested them to see not only if laptop coolers even make sense but also which one is the best and which one was the best value. After posting that video, one particular laptop cooler was mentioned over and over in our comments, saying that the best laptop cooling pad is the IETS GT500 V2 laptop cooling pad, so after many comments, we bought it and tested it here today, and I have to admit that all those who comments saying to test this out were not wrong, and as you will see in this video, we were able to drop our laptops CPU temp by 17 degrees celsius under a full load stress test making this once overheating Asus laptop now running cooler than ever before.

I appreciate the detailed review of the iets GT500 V2 laptop cooler. It's great to see the thorough testing and benchmark results. The temperature drop is impressive, but it's a bit concerning that the cooler is so loud at max speed. Thanks for sharing your insights and recommendations for budget alternatives. I've been using GT500 V2 RGB more than a year and working great without any problem. Mostly using less than at 50% fan speed. The dust filter on the back definitely collects the dust well and easy to clean with a brush. I saw the new GT600 model and it shows some improvement.

Mine is 5000 rpm model so do not know the difference over 4200 rpm model. But I'm barely using V2 model with 100% fan speed it is not only loud but 70~80% of fan speed is enough to cool down the laptop. I'm also using the GT600 and it has a bigger fan with maximum 2800 rpm.

Fantastic review, Matt! You really sold me on that one. But before I buy, I had one question about the IETS that no review really covers. I've seen from some other cooling pad reviews that it is often enough to just lift your laptop with a stand so that the vents aren't blocked, which is the case if it's just sitting on a table. I was wondering, how effective is the IETS when the laptop is just sitting on it, with the fans of the IETS turned off? Is there a noticeable CPU and GPU temperature drop or is it not that effective in this scenario? I'm asking because there will be times when I want some quiet, yet still be able to cool my laptop. So I'm thinking of buying the IETS in addition to a regular laptop stand. Another aspect that is not covered in any of the other IETS reviews is: How comfortable is it to game with this thing? I don't currently own an external keyboard, so I wanted to just plant my laptop on the IETS and start gaming. However, my concern is that the foam AND stand will lift my laptop up too high, to the point where it would end up being uncomfortable using it, especially for longer gaming sessions. If you, or anyone who has experience with the IETS, could speak on those two questions, I would immensely appreciate it! Thank you so much!
@guldurek
@guldurek 9 ай бұрын
If the fans are off, temperature of laptop is higher than just lifted back a bit. Fortunately you can adjust speed of fan so just go with some low speed and then it starts moving down with temperature - you just need to find proper combination for you. You can just put laptop on stand without using legs, dust filter is still uncovered. Playing without lifting laptop (or on first level) is not bad, I could play like that but I'm just using wireless keyboard anyway. I have in plans making also some simple video (with some gameplay tests so people can see how temperatures are behaving) about this laptop stand but it will be in Polish ;)

B0 have 4200 RPM, I got the version V1 with 5000 RPM (10€ more) and it was 93€ (with shipping) from producent site. It is expensive and pretty loud but works really well, decreasing temperatures for 10C or more while gaming. In my opinion it is definitely worth it, cheaper pads wouldn't decrease temperatures at all or 1-2 degrees at best. You just need to ask yourself if can work with noise and if can spend those kind of money.@@shantanusharma4513

The important question here: what does "Stock" test actually mean? Was it tested with a stand without a fan (just to lift the notebook) or the notebook was just standing on the table? It is very important as just lift a little helps a lot, without any additional coolers.
@mattscomputerservices

@djxak
@djxak 3 ай бұрын
@@mattscomputerservices Thank you for the response. In this case, it would be good to see an additional variant in next tests: Stock + Lift. It is common knowledge that lift helps a lot. Sometimes even more than a stand with an active fan (because a stand, while blows the air, also physically blocks air access). This will probably made some stands obsolete as they will do almost nothing compared to just lifting the back of the notebook. Anyway, happy testing! :)

@Matt's Computer Services So with a gaming laptop on top of the iets gt500, do you think an Opolar laptop cooler won't be needed or do you still recommend hooking one of those to the side vents of the laptop? I got a gaming laptop that gets really hot when gaming, I initially had it on top of a Kootek 5 fan cooling pad but, that wasn't working as well so I added a side-vent exhaust fan, an Opolar laptop cooler, which exhausts excess heat out but, still temps didnt go down as much even with both the Kootek pad and the Opolar cooler on the side of the laptop, while playing So, what I wanna know is, if I purchase this iets gt500, would I still need to have the Opolar laptop cooler attached to the side of the laptop, as an added measure, or do you think it won't be necessary?
@mattscomputerservices
@mattscomputerservices 10 ай бұрын
I think you are better off with just the GT500 but I do want to make a follow up adding a vacuum cooler like your talking about but from my experience this cooler is going to be best we the vent free because it pushes the air through your bottom vents then that air is forced out the side and the side cooler may cause a limitation.

From my understanding there isn’t a GT600 based on their website. And the difference with the GT 300 is that it is a two blower fan intake design that doesn’t use the sealing technology of the GT500. Also the RPM is technically lower on the 300.

Depend on what you are trying to clean but one cool thing about this cooler is to clean out the dust you can pop out the filter then blow that out with an air duster.

Well the cooler is loud but it definitely helps with making your computer fans not have to run so fast.

Better buy PC...if I have learned one thing it is do not try use fork as spoon to eat a soup. I have normal non gaming laptop and it is fine because I do casual gaming, top BF1 but if I would game a lot and heavier titles I would go for PC. There is no reason to buy laptop if you game.

Well I would say it’s not as portable but it can still be a great option for those who use a laptop as a portable workstation.
