It’s my fave plant in the garden. Have you tried Turk’s Cap? It’s an amazing one too and grows super fast and lush with these bright red or white flowers that are edible. Mine is still flush with red flowers in January!! In zone 9A.

Turks Cap squash? I've tried a while back.

@@FlomatonFamous no, not a squash. It’s just a type of flowering plant.

It would be interesting to see how they would root in sand.
@FlomatonFamous2 жыл бұрын
Might give it a try and see. Sand is a very popular rooting medium.

I have a cutting of this, it's in water and has some roots but the top looks like it is drying up. What do I do
@FlomatonFamous8 ай бұрын
You can dip it in slighted nestled wax. I would use parafilm tape but you may not have some.

Where did you buy your cuttings or seeds? I’d really love to buy some. A neighbor had gave me a cutting back in late fall but, it got put out in the shed all the water dried up in the bucket so now I’m sure it’s dead. Now I just don’t have the heart to tell her what I did and ask for another cutting.

I took cuttings of the orange from my yard, others I bought on Facebook yard sales. Seeds I got from membership at www.brugmansia.us/

When do you take cuttings when you bring in for the winter
@FlomatonFamous9 ай бұрын
Yes, I take cuttings a day or two before frost.

So no bag on top like i always see? I have not had any success with my mulberry cuttings, thinking it was just too humid with plastic over them even though i had holes in it.
@FlomatonFamous2 жыл бұрын
The bag on top is not required for dormant scion wood. I do wrap the scion in parafilm to prevent them from drying out.

Hi! How often did you water the cuttings?
@FlomatonFamous2 жыл бұрын
The ones in the pots, maybe 2 times. The one in bag, none.
Thank you for your videos, I have learned so much. My aunt gave me a potted cutting last fall. I repotted it this spring and put it outside after last frost. It took off and had so many beautiful blooms. I’m now obsessed with Angel trumpets! Thanks again

Because of the extreme heat and drought, the plants didn't do much this year. I'm hoping that next year I get flowers. Update probably next year when they all flower.

Won’t those cuttings take two or three years to create a Y and bloom? PS the word “salmon” has a silent ‘L”
