IN THIS VIDEO, we build a mob xp farm in Minecraft 1.19, the 1.19 Wild Update in Minecraft! This farm is one of the best ways to get xp in Minecraft, whether you are a beginner or late-game player. This video will show you how to build one of these farms in your survival world in single player ONLY. This farm works in Minecraft Java. I built the farm, made 3 floors and it works nice but i have one question: Why do I get hit often? These mobs can hit me trough the small gap and i dont know how to stand so they dont hit me..

Another addition to this farm: if you build a 'ring' platform around the main drop area, and then put slabs on the sides of the drop tower (at mob head height) the skeltons that drop will kill the creepers and you can farm disks :) You just need to make sure they don't damage you too much, or bring a shield

You can also crouch walk right in front of the little step you stand on to farm and get disks that way

PIN THIS IF POSSIBLE: On bedrock light goes through slabs so the floor and the ceiling of the spawing room have to be solid blocks.

if anyone is making this on bedrock u can add a trident killer and if u have a looting 3 sword u will get better drops or more it makes it automatic

@@r7blue Hope you don't think I'm trying to patronise you or anything, but you only really ever need two buckets of water to have an infinite water source. Place them with one empty block between them, either in a line or diagonal to each other, and then each respective block between them replenishes infinitely.

how is yours working? because i used slabs, light is getting through (since slabs are transparent blocks) and it’s not letting mobs spawn. i had to modify the farm to make it work

Slabs don't create light, they let light through on Bedrock but not on java

Good farm, works well, only a couple of things I would suggest. Make the fall distance two blocks shorter, as some mobs are falling and still dying at your suggested height, due to them jumping slightly at the edge of the water. As well as this, rather than filling the corners of the roof with torches, just make it all slabs. Since mobs can't spawn on them. Otherwise, great farm. The chunk limiting works really well. I also found putting torches on the ground works so that the shade that the farm provides stops mobs from spawning really low down.

@@chrisdewitte4942 Well i know how some of it works. The trapdoors are on the sides because the mobs still see them as full blocks, even when they are flipped down. This lets them run into the water without being aggroed first. Then the trapdoors on the floors of the spawning area are so spiders dont spawn cause they can just climb the pipe and would clog it up

I'm not getting any spawns on java? I can hear noises at night but only after I get back up to the roof (where the torches are). They aren't coming down, despite building it like you said. Edit: Fixed by raising the roof up to 2 blocks, was 1.5 blocks. Also I forgot to open the trapdoors, so anyone who's struggling check for those things!

Farm worked really well, i just have a slight problem. Spiders have the tendency to bunch up in the 4 top corners of the farm so the amount of mobs that actually drop out after a while diminishes, would you know any way to remedy this?

Thank you, it works great! Also, tip for anyone who wants music disks: change the second block from the bottom to a slab (on the top half). That way you can look skelletons in the eye and they will shoot creepers to give you disks!

This is the best mob farm I've ever seen!! I am usually hesitant to build them because of how resource heavy they are and they don't work most of the time but this one is way different it's extremely fast with only one layer and only took about 20 minutes for me to build definitely build this In your world!!

THANKS THIS WORKS SO WELL. considering the fact that 1.18 has ENORMOUS caves that mob can spawn in and it's such a hassle to mob proof it with torches. Though I built my previous mob farm above an ocean biome it's still so inefficient even after lighting up the caves beneath me with torches. Building it this high up is super efficient, mad drops.

Mobs spawn very slowly for me. Maybe 1 every few minutes. Java edition 1.18. I followed the steps exactly as you said them and I've also tried reading other comments but none help. I also watched part 2 of this and made the adjustments but nothing has helped. Any suggestions?

It works very well and i had a few basic spawner farms in the past and can say confidently this is very efficient and well made it also works as a pretty good tnt farm for netherite mining i can tell you put a lot of effort into this great job its also made almost entirely out of wood making it very easy and quick to build early on

Just go down the pillar and back up again and those mobs should despawn

I'm having issues with it not spawning during the day. When I go inside it seems to be lit up too much and I can't figure out why. Any ideas? Do I need to double stack the outside? Could the light be coming through from the slabs?

i saw a comment on another vid, saying dont use slabs instead use full blocks as light passes thru slabs in 1.14 and above.. just light up the top using torches. hope this helps! :D

Just finished building that xp farm and have problem.. im getting like 2 mobs per 5min even wiith rendering and other stuff on minimum. I skipped building whole mob spawner on the platform. i just builded it next to my base, can it be the reason of so small numbere of mobs spawned in it?

It's probably cause of the new caves that were probably added under the farm. Light them up, or build it higher up ideally over a deep ocean. The higher the farm the better

The mobs will have slightly more health when you attack them

You are right, I noticed creepers sometimes die from a 22 block fall. My solution is to place 4 trapdoors in the fall chute, about 3 blocks from the top, and then place water above the trapdoors. This might sound like a complicated solution but it also means that if you want to expand the grinder and make another spawning platform above the current one that those mobs will hit this water and then fall 20 blocks. It's a way of future-proofing this design so you can add as many extra spawning platforms on top as you like.

Don't works on java, spiders spawn on 2x2 you need a lot more trapdoors on the floor !

@@slater4561 I build blocks around the leyers, on the side where I had the 'window' for killing I placed trapdoors on top on the leyers. Thats the building modifications but I think the problem is that you have to make sure you one-shot kill the creepers

DISCLAMER FOR BEDROCK PLAYERS: Replace both the 7x7 slabs and roof slabs for the best farm efficiency. Then for the roof, use half bottom slabs on top of the blocks or light them up to prevent spawning on the top of the roof. As soon as I replaced the roof and 7x7 spawning areas with full blocks the results were as the comments stated, "instantly". Very nice tutorial just wanted to save some time for bedrock users as slabs emit light through them. This will make your farm faster and able to work during the day.

@@CubixCreations The rate of my farm is constant but slow. It isn't nearly as fast as you showed it at the end of the video. What do you think could be the cause of this? The y level of my afk spot is 162 and the spawner part is 186. It's completely dark in there and nothing is spawning around it. Also how could you fully prevent spider spawns? Remember I'm on bedrock.

Good farm HOWEVER spiders kept clogging it up. In order to prevent spiders from spawning just place the trapdoors in a way that there is no 2x2 square in the spawn rooms (will need a few more trapdoors than said in the tutorial). I don't know wether spiders need a 3x3 or a 2x2 area to spawn but with this simple trick it solved my problems.

if the build needs water buckets, put water buckets in the required materials at the start. Other than that it was a helpful tutorial that made sense and the time lapses weren't too fast which is common and very annoying.

Light up the ground around it for like 5-6 chunks so that the only mobs that spawn are in the spawner in that area.

I built the same dimensions for everything but in a mountain side. Does this have anything to do with the lack of any mobs I get spawning in the farm or should it still work in a mountain/underground?

The reason that you build it way above the surrounding area is so that mobs don't spawn on any other nearby blocks

The closer to the ground the worse, mobs will spawn in under ground caves you shouldnt make on land either, make a floating platform about 30 blocks above ground then build yiur farm their, light up any nearby caves just in case

I did the same but I figured something out that might fix it. Because I build it with the slabs first, the light had already passed through the block so when I went inside the spawner it was still crazy bright but had no torches. So I place some torches down and then broke them. And that fixed the light glitch

@@vndt_bolton_gamingriley7531 Yes I did get mine to work. I don't know why yours isn't working, did you try going inside your mob grinder and placing torches down, then deleting the torches? By doing that it fixes the lighting and makes it dark again. Other than that just make sure there is 0% light in your grinder. If it still doesn't work after that, I don't know what's wrong...

Probably the fastest mob farm I've built. Took maybe 30 minutes after obtaining materials. Also love to see tutorials in survival 👍🏻

Somehow the room doesnt turn dark for me? I have no potions, i even tried to replace the torches with a whole lot of slabs but it only gets darker slightly, any suggestions?

The top part where the mobs spawn I built out of a mix of deepslate and cobblestone as that is what I had alot of.for some reason it is very bright up there so no mobs can spawn so it only works at night any fixes?

I built the farm and nothing was happening so I went into the farm and the whole thing was lit up from the torches I put on the outside, how would I go about fixing this. It's also completely lit up during the day aswell. For reference I used oak planks and slabs for the build

Im having trouble with spawn rates I've watched the tutorial 1 and 2 plenty of times but I'm getting nothing maby a spider every 3 min or so, no light, no slaps except where specifically required and 190 high. Any help or tips? slabs*
