Whussup. I didn't follow through! Everything I learned I've integrated into my video edits but I don't think I'll be pursuing animation as a career. I've been doing marketing and music. Life's is just so full of exciting avenues; I guess I'm just going to keep exploring and hope for everything to fall into place. Lots of love for everybody, keep learning and creating!

@@atmanvisual190 Another thing to add is that you were honest with yourself and kept trying to find the path instead of getting into something that's quite a climb in the career sense, failing because it's not your true passion, then blaming everyone else. I've seen so many artists do this when really, it comes down to just asking yourself: "What do I want to do, TRULY?". Props dude, and just because you switched paths, doesn't mean you can't be creative in the mean time.

Such a cool selection you got there Ben! I would add Ai va - Playing Cards by Gabriel H Fermanelli for its great design, original colouring and sleak animation. Pandora - The Great Indoors by Oddfellows for the smooth fake 3d transitions that are so trendy at the moment. Rafa Cezar's Interconnections for the great shape animation and the 2d/3d mix. So many great works to choose from...!!

Tycho is my goto work music 🧡 i don't think its fair to include buck and ordinary folk...or...maybe best freelance animations vs best studio animations of 2020. I know this is for 2020 but my favourite animated music video ever is With Any Sort Of Certainty, by Toh Kay. Due to legal bullshit, the song couldn't really release or something, but the music video is on youtube and it is jaw-dropping. By the animator behind A Night In The Woods, I think you guys'd really dig it.

MAAAAAN. Great stuff. Love your thought about how 10 or 12 frames can be so well done and efficient because you'll watch for so long. THAT is powerful. So I just recently started watching an anime series called 'BNA' on Netflix. It's from my favorite Japanese studio, TRIGGER. The show itself is great, particularly the consistent color palette that packages the whole series (they always have amazing designs and animation) BUT the end credits take the characters and designs to another line-less, graphic level with. It's so great because run/walk cycles are very typical in time credits, but TRIGGER embraced a bolder look from an outside studio. And that studio is credited to Giant Any which I hadn't heard of. One of my favorite projects ‘Quarantine Dreams’ was created in response to COVID by the amazing animation artist & game designer David O’Reilly. He set up a voicemail line for people to call and just tell their stories or share their fears & concerns. He then used the voicemail audio to trigger generative, reactive 3D animations of hypnotic, morphing mandalas in real-time using a custom made visual synthesizer, using his vast library of original 3D objects (a library which, also, he has made available to anyone for free). These animations were composed and live-streamed in a series of late night performances through his website. It was haunting, meditative and heartbreaking. You can watch several clips on his Instagram page.
