I live in Jacksonville and it is VERY spread out which sounds good at first but there’s a problem with that, it takes FOREVER like it can take up to 1 hour or more even with no traffic just from the amount of driving. For reference I live on the West Side and it takes me 45 minutes with no traffic to get the Avenues Mall ((if that helps XD-)) Anyways I just think it’s too spread out just my opinion though.

That’s wonderful I hope you enjoy it here! It does get hot but- we have Disney and a ton of beaches so I think it’s worth it. I recommend the Avondale and Riverside area in Jacksonville if that’s the city your looking for. I personally live on the West side of Jacksonville but used to live in the Murray Hill area it’s a bit shady but only after dark if your in the wrong place, but it’s like that everywhere- Another Thing about the Riverside/Avondale area is that you can walk to a lot of places and it’s like fancy area of town so there are a lot of modern shops and restaurants near the Riverside area but more vintage things over in the Avondale area. Anyways wherever you move I hope you enjoy it here! ~ ✨🌸

Riverside, Avondale and Ortega, .these neighborhoods are where I would want to live..All these modern areas you list that are 2" above flood zone.

I always liked Avondale & Riverside, but I would add San Marco to those, too. My dad grew up on Park St. and graduated from Lee High School in 1949.

Thoughts on Flemming Island? If we come out there (hopefully we will know within the next week) we are looking at nice areas close to the Base. Flemming Island looked nice. Thoughts?

Hi Elizabeth! Fleming Island Is Beautiful! It’s very comparable to the (Bartram area) but, on the Westside of Town! What Base are your referring to? (JAX NAS) 🤔

If your are indeed trying to be close to (JAX NAS) then Fleming Island would be first choice just because it is so beautiful!, but it is a bit of a Drive.. about 20 minutes away 25/30 with Traffic.. another option to consider Is called (Oak Leaf & Oak Leaf Plantation) also beautiful but a little closer.. about 10 minutes away 15/20 with traffic

do streets in JAX beach, Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach get flooded from hurricane storm surges?

They can. All Florida coastal areas will get flooded. Can't hide from a 15-20' wall of water unfortunately. That's probably a Cat 3 though. I will say, because we are in the "curve" of Florida, it seems to help them miss us. We are very lucky here and I lived in Ponte Vedra Beach 2 blocks from the ocean. Move here. You'll love it. I promise!

For True fixer uppers that’s going to be the (west side and north side)….. for Move in Ready stuff it would be the beaches or airport areas! Any neighborhood in the Intercostal is great! Check out the areas of (Kernan, Hodges & San Pablo )! Mayo sits in the center, essentially of all of these’ 🤗

I don’t know if you’ve gotten help yet but depending on what kind of house your looking for and where your going to be working ((if that matters)) I’d recommend looking at the subdivisions in the west side, Murray Hill, The Riverside/Avondale area, or Oakleaf. Does not surprise me they left westside out. There are many good communities but they just focus of areas that lack a huge African American presence. Smh

Talk about the west side but the left side is Riverside avondale's Oakleaf Plantation just give it those names to make you feel his more upscale just like mandrem it is still the Southside that just make you think you're getting more for your money I seen homes on the Northside built better you just paid more taxes and don't talk about the beaches thank you glad when they sell it the taxes insurances is through the roof people tickle me when they say I live in upscale neighborhood I eat tuna in spring water so bourgeois but when you want to have fun we have to show you how lighten up you ain't going to die and take it with you

Oh my goodness. I'm moving to Jackaonville reluctantly ( nothing against yall I'm just from Colorado and it's so beautiful and I'm just so sad having to leave it." But I'm auch a history nerd especially black American history and our role in building the country. Harriet Beecher Stowe's home?!?!? Oh my gosh. I can't wait for the history tours. Even though I'm very sad. Lol
