Same here. Skysharks was so bad and stupid, so "2nd degree" that I couldn't help but laugh. Unfortunately, it looks to me that it might be the best movie of this list! Considering all the crap I have already watched, hoping to come across something decent (Kong Vs Godzilla, Monster Hunters, Sputnik etc.), I don't have much hope for the rest of them!

@@fr-tigerfangs7039 colour out of space was pretty good, some disturbing body horror that I wasn't expecting too. I love Nicolas Cage though so I might be a bit biased. Sky sharks was just too realistic for me though, it could actually happen so I'm going to avoid it

"Archive" was surprisingly good. It's a trip, but you need to watch it all the way through to really appreciate how much of a trip it actually is. It was well thought out.

Got content? So the new CGI releases the imagination in your face while screaming, because being such a relatively new technology in this digital computer Internet age of social media and Tik Tok we have not yet figured a way to use this technology as a storyteller around a campfire fire telling stories that we could tell for thousands of years. I suggest that it is not even all storyline although truly without drama tragedy comedy you have nothing to begin with. But the art itself, like a guy who sat in a square and never failed to attract an eager audience even if he told the same stories over and over again. That's how religions got started. Stories that hit with such impact that they tore at their faces, threw ashes on their heads, and wailed. And spawned a 100 thousand rituals. The rock festival? That must have been one damn good story.

All of these waffled between standard fare and preposterous but it looks like "Sputnik" might be worth a view. I feel bad that this was the only film besides "Palm Springs" that seemed interesting and even that was predictable.

The bad part of the novel is that the Fremen went into a cosmic crusade, slaughtering & basically committing whole sale genocide in the name of Muad'Dib

@@edwardjamesjr1 Just to clarify, not saying the novel was bad, it was a fantastic novel, but that part of the story how the Fremen went from courageous warriors to a mindless herd of fanatic monsters with no remorse whatsoever. That is what I meant 'bad part of the novel'.

@@OverlordShamala They we’re always religious fanatics and they were still courageous warriors, just fighting for Muad’dib. He was pretty much their god after all and they were just following his orders. True they had conviction to fight against their oppressors, but it was pretty evident that once they found out Paul was their chosen one, they would pretty much do anything for him. Centuries of conditioning from Bene Gesserit won’t go away in a couple of decades.

@@SoushiBN I have viewed Maud'did as a figure only, no real influence over these people to stop them from doing what they did. It's been years a read the series, but it has been my idea that the Fremen used Muad’dib name to go on a crusade of vengeance. Here they are, stuck on the desert of Arrakis, while the other worlds enjoyed the blessing of water. That can foment hatred in a way due to envy. That's my opinion of course.

I didn't see anything worth watching, except *maybe* "The Spacewalker" (based on actual history that happened within my lifetime). I'll stick to writing my own sci-fi books -- the storyline is much better than what these offer. Movie makers today rely too much on CGI effects and non-stop fast-paced action and not on telling an actual story worth immersing oneself into. If you're interested in "Dune", I suggest actually reading the books -- they're a bit "dry", though far better story telling than any of the movies made. The black lady with the short hair in "Max Cloud" -- if it's Kristen Wilson, I haven't seen her in anything since she was in "Dungeons & Dragons" where she played the elf, Norda.

LOL-it looks like they spent a ton of dough on that first one, but the writing and acting are rawther embarrassing, aren't they? It's amazing how many discrete skills a good film needs... You have to admire anyone for taking on such a complicated, ambitious task. I just feel sorry when people try so hard and come so close. Cheers!
