How very kind of you to look after the birds🐦🐥 My dad loved to feed his birds and spent more on their food than he did his own😅 He took an old big satellite dish and put it up on a picnic table, and kept it full of clean water for them to drink out of and bathe in. That is a quick and simple recipe for your suet. Thanks again for all that you do for them🐾🐾🦊🐺

This is a great idea for a great chicken, bird, and tree rat a.k.a squirrel treat! I can see myself rolling this into mini meatballs for this upcoming winter when it is below 15°f for at least 4 months! My _only advice_ *you must cook that flour COMPLETELY - INTO A ROUX.* Yes, birds regurgitate food to their young, but that comes from their crop not their stomache. At this time, we as Ornithologist do not yet know for sure if birds eructate or flatulate. So for now, cook flour thouroughly and *never use* (or purchase products containing) *cornmeal!* *_HAPPY BIRDING!!!!!_*

hey Bob, they were not purchased seperately, they were purchased at walmart with suet already in them. it was then we realised the suet was crap and never got ate. We kept the square holders to put our own suet in. hope this helped and ty for the comment. we put them in the freezer in the holders and when ya ready tap the suet out and put into a square cage in the yard. cages are only a dollar at walmart.

Have you ever made the cakes with the meal worms. I feed my birds those here in Ohio throughout the winter. Sometimes it’s hard to get them. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks again
@BritishTeaDrinker3 жыл бұрын
Hi Becca😃 I've never put meal worms in the cakes before, (although I may now lol) great idea!!! But I do buy the dehydrated mealworms from Walmart or Lowes and put them out. I soak em in a little water for aboit 15 minutes, then drain off the the the water off before takin them out. Once they find em and get used to where they are, they will come to eat often. I love watchin em enjoying their food!! makes me feel good😄 thanks for comment and for watching🐦

I tried it here in Ohio. It does not actually melt, but it is so soft it is hard to handle or get out of the mold unless it has been in the frig. It is not firm like the ones you buy. I can keep those in the garage and still pop them out of their molds, You can not do that with this recipe. Wish we could.

I wouldn’t put sugar on it, also check your peanut butter doesn’t contain salt or sugar
@OfficialMyxomatosis10 ай бұрын
Birds of all species, especially during migration, mating, egg laying, rearing and return migration need tremendous amounts of sugar. For example, prepackaged hummingbird mix be it powder or liquid *(DO NOT BUY)* that is _dyed red for humans, not the birds,_ is PURE, large grain TABLE SUGAR with food colouring so people think it will "work better." 🙄
