The Aeolus Pro 3Vs on my Domane made me a believer in "wider is better", especially on bumpy Wisconsin roads.

V is for Volume because it can accommodate wider tires... Why don't you use W instead? Just as there are W shoes, you know? Way more obvious.

Is the 49v faster and more responsive than the RSL51 on tarmac and road cycling?

The 49V is going to have more volume for wider tires, so it would be best for gravel or a road tire setup where you're running a tire wider than 32mm. The RSL 51 is narrower and works great with narrower tires, so it would be the fastest of the two on pavement with the right tire.

I understand but isn’t wider faster even on road as that’s what’s portrayed. Wider tyres and more Volume and hence less resistance? Especially as You say this wheel is faster than its 51 predecessor

Would the 37v be good for 90% road 10% gravel? Or should I go for Pro 37?

Been riding the 37V on my gravel bike, and they are fantastic on road and gravel. I am picking up another set for my Domane tomorrow.

If you mount some 45 tires at these wheels at 30psi they get very compliant😅
