Thanks, we did (work our asses off) to build the most of these modified H1's. The tan #10 has a Cummins 5.9, most have suspension lifts, 42's, lockers, etc.

They're heavy, bulky, are a bitch to work on, and cost an arm and a leg; but the "REAL" HMMWV's (not those yuppie pieces of crap), are tough little ladies. She spent near twenty years takin' me half-way around the world and back several times, back when she was wearin' green and black and the radio didn't play music. Took care of me real good she did; but I didn't own her; so now I just miss her and reminisce. Nice to see her again…….. just havin' fun. Back when she was haulin' me around, she was mighty scared. That is some cool shit. But that poster has a valid point - it does help erode soil faster. Not a huge issue, but over time it causes problems like loss of topsoil and vegetation. Wheeling in areas with tougher soil and rocks is always a plus.

Actually the H2 and H3 make the short list for quality offroaders. They are easily overshadowed by the H1 and Jeep, and were 90s ideas built in the wrong time.

That hasn't been my experience crawling with my Cousins in their H-1 and H-2's but the conditions were different, steeper and rockier where you need flex.

I never really understood why my dad wanted an H1 so badly but after watching almost all the videos..DAM I can understand why he wants one and now why I want one. I would never get stuck and then I would be able to take on the snow up in Northern Michigan, although I dont even know if these H1s can handle the snow we get and what we have to go though. I even think that the Tan H1 would get stuck in some of the stuff we have to go through lol
