What I love about British crime films is that the first 1/2 hour is usually centered on how the criminal is even going to get a gun and how they will do so without ending up in jail for the mandatory five years for possession of one. In America, the criminals just pick one off of their coffee table or pull one out of the glove compartment.
@rbarnett3200
@rbarnett3200 2 жыл бұрын
It's ten years for possession, I think, and life (20 years) for firing a gun at someone whether you kill them or not. It's pretty strict here.That's why there is almost zero gun crime in Britain. Plus it's almost impossible to get a gun other than a shotgun in Britain. You need a licence, a criminal record check, the feds come round your house to interview you and you have to pay £120. Basically you either need to be a farmer or a gangster to have any reasonable prospect of having a firearm in Britain. If you dislike Pheasants or rival gangs, then you're quids in. If you wanna shoot cans off your wall or destroy your old car, then you're shit out of luck in Britain. You'd probably be alright on the Isle of Mann, in Cornwall or Ireland, but yeah, you're likely to get a stretch if you do that in mainland England. ...I like your basketball skills and work on The Wire, by the way. That's some solid stuff!
