It's baffling to me how D'Andre Ayton doesn't move the needle anywhere he plays despite the numbers, but I feel like they need to start with rim protection rather than spacing for these guys with their bigs. They'll just be one of those teams that scores 120 but gives up 130 otherwise.

I live in CHA, and I look at Miller the same way I saw Paul George at age 21 in Indy. This dude is 6'9 with half-court range, PG ballhandling skills, and enough athleticism to be an elite attack threat AND a lockdown defender. I am over here rubbing my palms together and smiling while following other teams, like all we need is one healthy season of him catching passes on the break from Melo and we'll have a ridiculous 1-2 with legendary potential. Meanwhile, Mark Williams is realizing what a person can actually do with a 7'7 wingspan.

I think it’s more that they should be using a different defensive scheme. They look fine together on offense recently but defense is a nightmare

I read this completely wrong as a Charlotte native. No reason to take a non-shooting PG who can't really play off-ball that well if you have the perfect running mate for Melo sitting there. Plus, Simons's days are numbered. Just another deadly scorer who will fill the box score for a couple seasons, win nothing and be replaced by somebody who plays defense. I say this because it's no reason to keep him around if you have the two most athletic guards in the league at age 20 waiting to shine (meaning Shaedon Sharpe).
