The thing of it is, Darkseid exists as a singularity, each version of him we see is actually just an extension of the same being. Not only would the kiss not have worked, not only did a conceptual 4th world being show up with flowers just to fuck with Superman afterwards, but that whole interaction is and forever shall be canon to the ongoing story of Darkseid.
