People tend to forget that Doug Kenney also wrote Caddyshack with Harold Ramis and Brian Doyle Murray
@tylertilwick6852 Жыл бұрын
Harold Ramis said that Doug Kenney completely distanced himself from the production after Jon Peters hijacked the film and derailed it from Kenney’s original version (which focused more on Danny, Maggie, Tony and the other caddies and was more of a coming of age comedy). Kenney and Peters constantly budded heads over the tone of the film and how Peters centered the film on Rodney Dangerfield, Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, Ted Knight and the Gopher. After the final version of the film was panned critically, Kenney completely disowned the film and was only after his death in which the film became a beloved comedy classic.

Jokes aside, you have my sympathies for losing someone you loved. I get how a piece of media can be subconsciously infused with emotional connection -- Green Day's Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) just happened to coincide with a beloved teacher of mine dying the following year. He didn't even make it the whole year -- for the last few months of that year, our teacher was a substitute because the original one fell ill. I knew he was sick -- he shared his illness with his class, so I wasn't completely blindsided by this announcement -- but the fact that I just happened to be in his very last class taught... That fact makes listening to that Green Day song much more poignant and emotional for me. I'm just glad I like the song, too, heh. Now, a suggestion: Watch more Cinema Snob! If your mother really loved you so much in life, I bet she would enjoy better whatever afterlife they gave her, knowing her son/daughter was enjoying themselves and life to the fullest. Have a great day! :D

Instead of Jackie Mason, they should've gotten Don Rickles or George Carlin, IMO. Might have had a better shot than a guy who simply relies on schtick. Also, Aykroyd should've put on his straight-man routine instead of trying to imitate Bill Murray. While we're at it, Chevy should've had a larger part, like discovering that he DOES own the club and someone wants to buy it from him. But, as long as we're thinking up ways to make Caddyshack II better, a surefire way would be to have not made it at all, and just simplified it to a ten minute SNL sketch.
@hoodedman65793 жыл бұрын
"Chevy should've had a larger part" Chevy hated working on it as much as he did; there was no way he would have done more, though I guess he might not have minded if the movie itself was less shitty.
