Welcome to another episode of Scrap Mechanic! Today I got the brilliant idea to try to recreate a Newton's Cradle! It just so happens that Durf has been working on a new bouncy block in the modpack beta, so he allowed me to try out a pre release version of it so I could make this idea a reality. Scrap Mechanic has always been extremely reliable when it comes to realistic physics so I don't see why this would be any different...

6:10 well not really exponentially but it bounces 50% higer every time. This is literally what exponentially means. 150%^x with x in the exponent as the number of bounces. Sorry for being so nerdy :D

the worst i've ever senn was made out of sawed off human heads, and the worst abou it was that the heads were absorbing a lot of impact, and so it did not bounce properly....

11:46 to fix this visual and annoying glitch you need to go to the sky box(the actual creation isn't on the skybox but it's in the sky above the real creation) and delete an invisible block who is part of the creation, after that the creation will become normal on the ground

11:50 this always happens when the force is so great part of the creation flies out of the map. It is surprisingly easy to replicate.

the bouncy part touched the teleport barrier, right? Like how Brent Batch used it to disconnect a creation from the ground?

@@vibaj16 I think that after the balls flew out, they pulled the rope bars and those got out of the map. Then the entire creation connected to those bars via bearings, piston, suspension disappears.

Actually, the reason the newtons cradle does not work in scrap mechanic is because of the distribution of energy coded into the game, so the commenter is right, repliers are wrong.

so the bigger sized balls were much better for weight distribution thats the reason why they swung way more gracefully. but id tone it down the the green flubber, and try alternating how its connected? maby rope-pipe-rope-pipe-rope to help control the feedback of the bounciness. I dont even own the game lol, but i just love watching your and kan's videos.

You should make a car that you could extend pistons and that makes it so the bouncy blocks touch the ground instead of the wheels. So you can switch between driving and bouncing.

Okay , for multiplayer monday , if you can rig the In game bombs to timers , put time bombs in them and set them free , and try to win the race without getting hit by raining , bouncing bombs , maybe have a flying portion as well so they're even more of a threat

@Scrapman Try putting 1 or 4 (so it states a perfect square) bouncy blocks in the center of some regular blocks. So the outside looks like a solid block but it has a bounced center. Maybe the bounce force will transfer from inside with more predictable results?

Just make a big room that contains the bouncy balls. My theory (based on your experinents) is that they'll begin to bounce once and then just gradually pick-up "bounciness" as they hit the walls, floor and ceiling Editor's Note: Also make sure to weld the room to the ground...because due to my theory, the room may become a physics bomb if it's not welded

Make a transformation race: Hovercraft race with bombs on the ground, Car checkpoint race, Airplane Obstacle Gate Race with 1 houre build time. Or make a no bearing race with a 30 min time limit Or an only thrusters race ( the vehicle is only use thrusters for movement and no wheels ) Or make a beyblade battle.

OMG SCRAP MAN! I'm imagine this, you and your friend/s do a video, of a bouncy car race! You can do this two ways, one being just a car made of the block, or you have to have at lest a strip of bouncy blocks around your car Or bouncy bumper cars lol

so basically i had a thought, would the rubber not absorb most of the shock from impact? so most of the reaction you (and in turn us) would be seeing is more or less that of the mod itself? i'm probably wrong but had a thought that a 3x3 square with either a bouncing block in the center, to give the individual objects the properties to bounce and coating the outside, or akin to that, 3x3 blocks with only a rubber object on the surfaces that would connect, might have gotten you closer to the result you were originally hoping for

Scrap Man! When your showing a sped up version of you building, you should try get another account on and record it watching you build with that account having no GUI and in one fixated spot. Maybe this will make the Speedbuild look better? By the way, I know I’m late to the video but I still want to suggest this.
