Bought this tent because of your video, took it on a 3 week camping trip across AZ, CO, and NM. Worked perfect, better than I thought. Never want to use a regular tent again. Everyone who watched me put the tent up, said something like ... "wow thats fast"...

NUMBER ONE (pun intended) reason I love my T4.....3am and I need to winkee....get up, stand up, go to other door not used for everyday entry....find something to aim at...back to bed! BTW this is not done in state parks this way LOL....I'm way out alone, just to clarify!

You are the 6th review I have seen on this tent. All the others I watched were complete crap. First time users in the backyard... your the only one that said there were 2 doors on opposite sides, that the floor was thicker than the rest of the tent, and you actually used the tent out camping. You earned a sub from me for not being a typical youtube gear pimp

Great video. I’m proud to be an OB member. I was using a Rightline truck bed tent. Just came back from 3 days out and ordered a Gazelle T4. Particularly for the reasons you mentioned, mobility and ease of use. You’re building a great community - thanks for the hard work.

I’ve owned the two room version over a year now. It is the most durable tent I’ve ever owned. The material it’s made from is heavy duty. I live on the pacific coast and high winds are frequent. I made the mistake of not staking it all down once and it blew away about 200 yards across my field. Nothing broke I was amazed! I highly recommend staking this tent down evry use. Great review video!

Fully agree with your philosophy of roof top vs ground tent. To each their own but for me the flexibility of not having to stake your truck to the ground, metaphorically speaking , gives far more freedom.

I really enjoyed hearing someone talk about the “frustration factor” when evaluating gear. I experience this and feel it is the biggest determining factor in what I use. So many things seem so high-speed and expensively perfect until that one thing keeps bugging the hell out of ya’ makes you chuck it in the fire.

I've had this tent for a while and it is built like a tank. Worth every penny. Tip-- Get some 4 foot dog leash to use instead of the cheap tie line. Hook the clasp to the tent and stake the other end to the ground. Stronger, faster set up and easier to pack.

Awesome. We camp in a huge E350 sleeper van. When it's hot, we prefer sleeping in a tent. This tent looks like it's made for us. We looked at Roof Top Tents and decided that getting up in the middle of the night to pee is dangerous and inconvenient. I have 17-year-old REI base camp 4 & 6 tents. Both are great tents. Not too hard to set up. However, we want something even easier.

I just wanted to thank you for your video and review. I'm getting ready to buy a tent for overlanding and my wife and I are in our 60's. So we love the look and the thought of a roof top tent on our Jeep JK in order to be off the ground in our desert area. But, we are not thrilled about the roof racks, climbing up on our lifted jeep to secure the tent, and not being able to drive our jeep into the garage during camping season. After viewing your video, we have simplified our choice, and will be going with the Gazelle T3, with cots so that we are off the ground in the tent. Injuries at our age, along with being out in country scare us, so limiting those possibilities is a priority. Thank again.

Dude! Love this setup! You are exactly right! I am older and have bad knees, No can climb RTTs. Besides, I gotta get up and pee during the night and do not wish to piss in a Gatorade bottle. I would use a cot in mine. Really like the ventilation. I suppose the LED tent light is a bright addition. The velcro makes it handy to wire in my CPAP machine. Easy-Peasy setup and take-down is the best! Thank You 🙏

We have owned both the T3 and T4. We first bought the T3 because it would fit inside our JK for travel. But when the temps dipped down and we needed a heater inside the tent, the T3 didn't give us the room for the heater and out mattress. The T4 gives us the room inside to place the heater at our feet without it being to close to us. We kept the T3 for the kids when they travel with us. Great tent!

Outstanding review! I prefer the OzTent, however its heavier, longer, and waaaay more expensive, so I consider this the better buy, but the OzTent is a good product as well for a ground tent. I run a rooftop tent, ground tent, truck cap, and arb enclosure room with walls for my rhino rack batwing as well. I just like to have options. With that said my vehicle platform is a lot bigger as I am running a 2017 Ram 2500 MegaCab Diesel which has not limited me one bit in overlanding. At the end of the day its what ever you can afford that can enable you to get out and explore. Keep up the awesome work!

Sold sold sold!!! I have a kelty dome that has served me well since 2004 and while still easy for me or my pops to set up it dose take a minute. We recently invested a considerable sum into a 15' yurt for hunting camp which we set up in may and leave up until late September as a ultimate home base ad it seems easier that the old pole tent we used in my early youth. We have planned a cross country from CA to VA and this would be ideal for those quick camp situations. So when need the ultimate base camp I'll yurt it and when I need to roam this will be it. To think I was willing to sell my soul for a conquerer. Camping shouldn't cost a half a rural house to do.

Looks like a great winter tent, however, down here in South Texas, it would not have enough ventilation. Basically here, you need a screen house that you can zip closed. Temps get up to 90 deg F at night.
@thewhiskeycowboy-official
@thewhiskeycowboy-official 5 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the complete opposite. I have tented in late fall, and can say with confidence that in cooler weather I find all the upper ventilation (without the ability to close it off) to be a pain since all the heat you want in your tent escapes. With all the side windows and top vent screens, I would say you do have a screen house that you can zip close. But you can't keep heat inside if you wanted to. I would think though, that this tent would probably be nice in moderate temperature zones or use. Winter use... no thank you. The top screens are my biggest complaint with tents now days.... they need to come with the ability to close them just like the side windows. THEN, they would be good winter tents. Until then, for me, no.

My wife and I are looking forward to travelling more in the next year and two and I can't see towing around a 5th wheel, and even towing a smaller trailer behind the 4Runner is a real pain for mobility and agility purposes but she draws the line at a roof top tent lol. No ladders for the aging knees and faltering balance! This would even fit cots if we so desired. Love the deployment and appreciate the used state of the cover: proof you've put the miles on it before reviewing it.

Another great video and a good review of a tent that I wasn't familiar with, but thanks to your review and recommendation I am now a proud owner of a T4 Gazelle Tent. I do a lot of desert camping and have been for years, so I have collected a lot of tents over the years. For the last 3 or 4 years I have been using an REI Basecamp 4 person tent with great results and it is still an excellent tent. Relatively easy to put up by myself, if the winds aren't blowing too strong, you how the wind can blow out in the desert. I was intrigued by the T4 Tent due the speed that it can be set up and the good reviews that it received on Amazon and other KZfaqrs. l Ordered the T4 thru Amazon Prime and it was delivered within 2 or 3 days. It arrived today and within about 90 seconds, first time try it was up and functional. Very impressed with the quality of material and the ease of set up. My wife was impressed with the roominess inside the tent and the height. Haven't had a chance to take it camping yet, but looking forward to it's maiden trip. Thank you for the review and your recommendation! Happy trails, John

@johnkaper1129
@johnkaper1129 5 жыл бұрын
@@MikeMacias Yes, the floor area is quite large and the sides of the tent are pretty vertical. If you were to sleep on four adult cots, it could get crowded. If you are sleeping on air mattresses and sleeping bags, should be large enough. Get the floor measurements and have your lay down within the boundary and see how you fit. Happy trails, JK

My teenage sisters and I have been breaking in a clam corporation screen shelter for about three years. We started using it as a camping tent by just throwing a tarp on the ground this year. I contacted clam after noticing gazelle put out this tent. They did let me know they have no intention of putting out a camping tent. I am waiting for the day I impulse buy a gazelle tent, the ease of these pop up pole tents makes camping and spending a day at the beach so much easier. Thanks for such an in depth review, a lot of the reviews on this tent are so short.

I'm glad it was informative! If you only need a 3-person, I'd recommend the T3. It packs a lot shorter. Cheers!

Hopping back on to say I bought a t4 plus in 2018 a month after this video for 300$! It sat till two days ago for a VERY misty and rainy trip to Shenandoah, I have never been so happy and I had to laugh because my sister is now in college and now wants her own! I came back to find this video for her and laughed when I realized I commented here. I’ll NEVER go back to a normal tent and maybe now she will have her own adventures too!

Great review 👍 I want one just for the view out the roof alone! Plus the ease of set up. So many convenient features.

unfortunately with two 50+ pound dogs, we're int he ground tent group. This looks like a nice option. Cant wait to hear how it holds up long-term.

I'm all for more options but after spending years using ground tents and having a run in with coyotes in camp I've since went to a RTT. I feel safer in it and mine is fairly fast to setup and go. While yes you can't just drive off in a night drive but I'm not one to do that anyway prior to setting up. YMMV. Thanks for the vid.

Thanks for posting this nice review mate. Question: Have you used this tent in the winter/snow before? I'm really curious if it can handle the cold or be insulated without too much trouble. Also, do you think that rope at the top of the tent could hold a shower water bag?

My buddy has one and it is a great tent. The only reason I haven't pulled the trigger on purchasing one is the folded down length is too long.

Me and my fiancé use our rig itself we have platform setup but use a small quick pop up tent to put stuff in like ice chest and other miscellaneous stuff.
