In this video, we discuss who TRULY is the best player in OWL history on their signature heroes! While I'm not sure what's next, I wanted to thank you all so much for making this series so special. There's been such amazing support on each and every one of these videos. All the hours put into them is more than worth it! Jjonak is still my favorite Zen. I remember the first time that OWL nurfed a player and not just a hero when they nurfed Zen 5 orb travel time to slow Jjonak down. All the great Zen's copied Jjonak and became great while wanting to be him.

I i think sbb was at one point the best tracer in the league early on and paved the way for how to play tracer but he was oushined later on by alot of other tracer players so hes not the best tracer in owl history but definitely held the tilte for a short time

Season 1 everyone was torn between sbb and Striker as best tracer. People argued either way but it was definitely those two.

@@M4ttNet sbb on his prime is the best tracer no contest, during OWL, he won most of his tracer 1 v 1 duel, and actively hunting down his counterpart to challenge them.

SBB for most of S1 was undisputed best tracer, towards the end striker proved he could compete. S2 was awful for tracer players and by S3 SBB had been caught up to and surpassed. The level of play has elevated and with tracer being one of the most popular and frequently meta characters every aspect of the tracer game has developed so much.

I don't remember SBB being considered the best Tracer, one of, yes, but not THE best Tracer. What he was the best at was Tracer 1v1s and that's why he was so valuable as a top tracer that can make it harder on the opposing Tracer. But if my memory doesn't play trick on me, for the overall impact on Tracer, not just 1v1s, the debate actually was between Striker and Profit

Sorry but have to disagree on the Genji pick. Whoru was good, but not anywhere on the level of Super's Genji. Literally carried Shock with that hero.

Honestly I've always considered Jinmu to obviously be the best pharah, and I'd take profit and dding over fleta too. People always don't give him the respect he deserves, on a team with leave he was getting the pocket and carrying almost as often in s4. Jinmus pharah was as important as amengs ball in dismantling goats as well. I think Profit had the best run on pharah though, I think it was s3 playoffs but not totally sure.

Super being over Hadi makes sense but to be honest, I think its more impressive that Hadi and London were able to make Rein work when the rest of the scene abandoned him. OW has always been a game where teams live and die by the meta. Being able to stick to what you know and find strong placements with it is something even Super can't claim to have done. Would Hadi have been able to be the best if evreyone was playing Rein? Its hard to say for sure, which is why I'd still give it to Super. But its pretty close imo.

I know Sbb's reign was very short but it was so iconic, and literally paved the way to how people play Tracer to this day, that I have to give it to him. Which kind of defeats the whole idea of consistency, but it left such an everlasting impact on that hero that I feel like it would be okay to just give it to him. I literally don't know any Tracer main that doesn't look up to Sbb.

Great list. All valid picks. Though I'd disagree on final picks for some, the only one point you made that I'd strongly disagree with are. Saying Fearless was in his own league as Winston. I think it's pretty widespread for people to basically have a tough choice for best Winston between Fearless and Smurf. Fearless is a perfectly good pick, but Smurf is right up there and is a close call IMHO. My picks like you would be Shock heavy since I think when you played a hero at a mirror to win a championship (or get really far in it) or a tournament that proves out the hero far more than popping off when no one else is challenging you on that hero and Shock just excelled more than any other team at more times. Also I feel being the top in a hero means individual plays AND probably even more important team plays. My differences. Genji I'd give it to proper. I feel like his Genji made a bigger impact when he did play it than nearly any other Genji. Sparkle for his run at the quick Genji meta is my runner up Tracer I agree it has to be Striker... I mean to be arguably the best Tracer in 2018 and then be back in that discussion again in 2022. I mean that has to win it... though Proper is a close second IMHO. DVA I'd give to Choi. He excelled in his entire history of playing it and then won out the Goats era where that hero was so important really solidifies it for me. Doom I'd go Sinatraa for a similar reason. I mean to win the playoffs and championship in the most intense DPS doom mirror meta. Hanzo I'd go Striker, not only did he win the 2020 Championship playing it but got Grand Finals MVP. No one else peaked so high on Hanzo in such a high stakes situation. Widow I agree ANS, hands down. I remember one of the OWL coaches saying that ANS was the most oppressive player to play against. Even when people made it as hard as possible for him to get value he'd often still scare the crap out of them and still get the kills. I really think Proper is an interesting runner up possibly. His Widowmaker play is insane. Btw Proper is insane I honestly think he's a fair pick for all these heros as best ever Tracer Genji Widow Sojourn I mean it's insane.

Not picking carpe for widow is heresy imo. Whenever carpe picked tracer or widow it meant philly was contesting as one of the best teams in the league. The rest of the team like fragi/sado/boombox weren't at the calibre of say bdosin, gesture, jjonak or mano. There was no reason for philly to be that scary and pretty much the only time philly was scary in their history, was when carpe got to pick tracer or widow. Carpe was bullying kids for TWO years on widow before Ans even entered the league. I wouldn't have picked striker for tracer as he didn't really have a solid career when picking tracer. Saying he didn't have the chance to prove himself isn't really an excuse given to other contestants in other hero categories. I would definitely give it to either birdring, carpe, proper,..., leaning towards carpe because i felt he has more longevity but honestly haven't checked who played more tracer most recent. Also not even mentioning ryujehong for ana is a crime hahah

Striker wasn’t in the discussion for 2022 tracer what? he played it for 3 games that whole season his primary game time was on reaper, also Profit Hanzo was better than striker in 2018 and 2020 and we saw it be great in 2022 whenever he played it

Well he's not close to prime Ans on Widow. Proper isn't really close to Merit and Shy across the board on Soujern on average. He just had an insane peak last playoffs in 2022. But he hasn't played Soujern that well in 2023 or the rest of 2022. So it just stands out. The other two, sure, you could argue. But I always thought Pelican and Whoru were more talented Genji players. I do think Proper does own Tracer pretty much and is very flexible, like top 3 to top 5 at most things.

That mei pick hurts physically. Ivy and pelican were so unbelievably cracked at mei. I feel like every year rascal existed there was always a better mei. Erster, then ivy. Pelican mei is one of the reasons the reign were the best rush team in 2021.

I also think Backbone while good, has a VERY specific style of Mei. Where as people like Rascal and Peli have a very well rounded style that works in a lot of different metas and comps.

Rupal was arguably not even a top 3 bap this year. Shu has has has mvp nominations and role stars and in 2021 essentially essentially carried the glads to a countdown cup win. You are making comparisons that are not even close to being equivalent.

picking striker for tracer feels like a purposeful bait. he never touched the hero in OW2 and we had multiple metas where tracer was a must pick. the tracers of the last couple years are doing damage on one less tank thank striker, so id say the damage stats are not in his favor. sure he is an iconic tracer that deserves recognition. but he is far outclassed by multiple tracers at this point

Wait, so Whoru gets it because he played genji when genji wasn’t a relevant pick, but Hadi and Backbone didn't prove anything while playing rush in similar non-meta ways? Maybe choose either Super-Sparkle-Rascal (the "when it actually mattered" pick) or Hadi-Whoru-Backbone ("they own those heroes" pick) + honestly I would argue you could have two rein choices, not having a zarya to enable changes rein and rush significantly

In the case of Rein I would still give it to Super. Hadi is great ofc but the argument for Rein actually does make sense here. A lot of OWL players dropped out/got burnt out and stopped playing from S3 and S4 where the league was really talented. Ofc the league was really talented during Hadi's reign, a few big names were no longer playing. Super was the best Rein during the peak of OWL competition when teams had figured things out and when having a good Rein was crucial. And he did that for like 3 years. I would argue that Super would have been even better in OW 2 pro play based on his play style. The guy is an absolute monster of a main tank.

Striker is about the last person I would've picked for reaper lol. Lip and sp9rk1e were just better. Lip managed to win out vs a flaming red hot doha who was playing out of his mind in the june joust, and sp9rk1e was CLUTCHING in that GF vs the shock where striker was very much inferior.

low key bumper is not a conventionally good rein, and was only good because his style synergized with the titans so well put him on any other teams and they would turn him into a feeder not saying he's bad, I'm saying he was really good at playing with the titans

SOOO glad you went with WHORU for Genji. Most underrated, least known Genji main of all time. By far the most talented that outperforms staples like Necros and Shadder. Unfortunate he didn’t get the spotlight a lot since he was often stuck playing other heroes and never really streamed

I think Smurf had A LOT more longevity. You can't just say Gesture is the best for one season... Part of one season even. Smurf been playing Orisa in meaningful matches very well across like 4ish seasons
