Your immercolation Hario switch recipe is my favorite coffee brewing method! Except I split the first pour halfway between a 45 second bloom pour, and then a regular pour. There's more juiciness and acidity this way, and that's just how I like my coffee the most.

I think the Melitta pour over system is the best, after all the method was first invented by Ms Melitta. I was using a ceramic Bonavita #4 cone, and a hybrid Bonavita #4 cone with a stop switch. Now I am using a ceramic Cilio #4 cone, which basically is a Melitta system with 3 holes. The flow rate is about the same as a Hario V60. I have a ceramic Hario V60 02, but I am not using it because it is limited to brew no more than 30g of coffee. The Hario V60 03 is made of plastics, and I hate plastics. Besides, the Melitta Bamboo filters are the best, in terms of odorless and flow rate.

You should try Marna "Ready to" conical dripper (they also produce a paper filter with the same name). For me it is the best dripper in terms of ease of use & consistency. You just need to do blooming with circular pour & then center pour. I have tried so many coffee beans, from Kenyan washed to Colombian Gesha and the result is very consistent. Great clarity, amazing layer and all the notes are present. It's pretty cheap around $15 and the paper filter is at the same price as Hario

Oddly when I wrote this, I thought to myself "I hope Lance doesn't see this and think I'm talking about him". Didn't even know you popped on this channel LOL. I will say MOST coffee channels don't give that vibe, relative to other industries on YT and social media. I'll give you that. I guess I'm speaking more to YT in general, as well as where (I fear and hopefully am wrong) the coffee social media space is going in general. Your channel on particular is a standout, but as I mentioned back in Feb on the HB forum in a post that you commented on "Lance Hedrick and other coffee influencers" in defense of your channel the following: "I always look forward to your videos, especially in the new studio. And how much time you spend genuinely answering folks in the comments section, in detail. And guess what? If it compensates you in some way directly or indirectly and you are still genuine in your approach, great. More power to you. I think people want some retired billionaire with unlimited time to review every esoteric coffee device that hits the market. Not happening." With that said, maybe I came across a little harsh, and as a result I will clean up my post. I just want the space to remain as (reasonably) genuine as possible.

For me, having the Switch makes my standard V60 obsolete. I can still do a standard V60 pour over in the Switch without using the immersion option if desired, so it serves a dual purpose. No need for a second V60. One conical brewer to rule them all! Though, that Tetra does look like a nice option for backpacking. I hadn't seen that before.

The metal v60 was my first pourover device. It was my daily driver for a few years, but after your previous recommendations for the cafec flower, I occasionally revisit the v60 but quickly go back to the flower. The v60 by comparison has too aggressive of an acidity & flatter aromatic notes. The Hario switch is interesting but I'd rather they have made it a device you could attach to the bottom of a glass or metal v60, ones with the removable base. Being able to swap between the 02 & 03 sizes with one switch base would have been a much more attractive idea
@coffeechronicler

Cafec Flower is also great and in side by side comparisons can feel more balanced and suitable for fruity coffees, whereas V60 will enhance lower-scoring and more developed roasts with its unique acidity. For that reason I think the V60 is the better choice for the average user. However, all cone shaped drippers will have a lot in common, so in the end practical aspects such as material become the deciding factor, and steel is the better option for me.

I've commented before on another video that as a kid in the 70s, that's all we had, so I just went with it. @@mateherbay2289 It's a cool little thing, I have had a couple of them over the years. But in the end, they get cracks and don't produce quite the same vibrancy for me as other cone-shaped drippers.

I would second the Kono, as I've really enjoyed the recipes on that dripper from Lance Hedrick

Better solution is to buy Clever and plastic v60. It will cost less money, and in clever we can brew mor coffee. Filters for Clever are also cheaper. But if we want one device, Hario Switch will be best option

I have a Switch, a plastic v60 and a Clever. Switch is great but preheating is a necessity and I don't have the patience/time in my groggy morning state. V60 makes wonderful coffee and I may use it on weekends or lazy mornings. The Clever has become my daily driver - no preheating, remarkably simple and the coffee is repeatably delicious.

That tetra drip is way overpriced. It's a real shame, like it's obtainable but over $20 for 3 flat pieces of plastic that probably costs a penny to make is major grift vibes. I'll just make my own.
