I like the scene in First Contact where Data says he was “tempted” by the Borg queen’s offer. When Picard asks him how long he was tempted, Data replies “0.68 seconds, sir. For an android, that is nearly an eternity.”

Back when Wraith of Khan was originally released to theaters, the moment Spock got up from his seat, during the Genesis scene, I began to weep, because I knew he was about to sacrifice himself.

I honestly loved the "Stealing the Enterprise" bit from Star Trek III. Just shows how Star Trek makes even backing the car out of the garage epic.

The greatest 8 minutes in any science fiction movie was the Stealing of the Enterprise from Star Trek III. There are so many good elements to use there, from Uhura's interaction with "Mr. Adventure" (that's his name in the credits) to the Excelsior stalling out and failing to achieve transwarp, it is my all time favorite. I love some other movies as a whole far, far more, but this one sequence summons what the Crew of the Enterprise truly were, and why their adventures were so good. They were family and nothing was more important to them than each other.

Funniest moment for me was Scotty trying to use the computer in ST IV: The Voyage Home. When they tell him to use the mouse after he was giving it voice commands, he picks it up like it's a microphone and talks into it.

The opening scene panning over the Klingon ships in Star Trek The Motion picture in combination with the music is still stunning.

She'll fly apart, sir. Fly her apart then! Gotta love Captain Sulu.

"She'll fly apart!" "Fly her apart, then!" Sulu knew the urgency of the situation.

Stealing the Enterprise is my all time favorite, they managed to make the sci-fi equivalent of backing your car out of the garage a truly epic suspenseful and powerful sequence.

The musical score from Star Trek 2 still gives me chills. ❤️

Personally I think nothing in First Contact beats Picards "The line must be drawn here" speech. Also the Photo of the old crew scene in Beyond was very subtle yet powerful.

Been too long since I've seen these movies but my favorite scene was the one with the Borg (I think) when Worf was trying to convince Captain Picard to abandon ship and Picard called Worf a coward. Worf: "If you were any other man I would kill you where you stand."

No doubt “stealing the Enterprise” was one of the great moments from ST: III; never get tired of watching that scene! The music was just pure golden!

The Captain Sulu line is the theme of the entire movie series. Willing to die just to rescue your friends who have rescued you. The best scene out of them all.

To think it all started in 1966 on a Thursday evening at 8:30 on NBC. I watched every week never missing a show and when I heard about it being cancelled the second season, I was one of many who wrote in, sending several letters pleading to save the show. I was heartbroken when it was finally cancelled after NBC put it on at 10:00 pm on a Friday evening. Then the reruns began several years later....and it hasn't stopped yet. Greatest show that ever was or ever will be.

Well i loved the look on Riker's face when he said "Fire", and then the look on Lursa and B'Etor's faces when they realized what just happened. In Generations. That was my favorite scene in that movie.

Kirk asking the crew to 'remember where we parked'. ST IV had most of the best lines and it was suitable that the funny one was directed by Nimoy. One thing I didn't realise was that Nimoy directed '3 Men and a Baby' straight afterwards.

Kahn in his last moments before genesis detonation. Ricardo Montalbán nailed it...again.

I always thought John Williams scored the best film soundtracks, but James Horner was a very close second. "Stealing the Enterprise" and "Battle In The Mutara Nebula" are two examples.

I think for Wrath of Khan, it's got to be either the first encounter with the Reliant, or Shatner & Nimoy with the death of Spock. The latter scene is so incredibly well done that I _still_, 36 years after the fact and knowing Spock comes back in the next movie, can't get through it without shedding a tear.

Love or Hate ST3, the Stealing the Enterprise is a great, great scene. Tense, funny and the EFX were dead nuts on.

That is a good scene from Wrath of Khan, but the best scene, and best scene from any Star Trek movie, is Kirk's eulogy for Spock.

As much flack Nemesis gets, it does have a couple of the best space battles ever portrayed on the big screen.

I’ll admit, that opening of Star Trek 2009 brought a tear to my eye. And so the idea that the next movie COULD have been about Kirk and his father would have been really nice, I think. Alas, I guess it won’t be happening, ever.

I still think the best scene in insurrection is Picard morality speech. "Tell me admiral, how many people does it take before it becomes wrong"

One of my favorite scenes is when they were attacking Wharfs ship and he yells out..."Prepare for ramming speed!!!"

in TMP- the 1st 15 minutes with the Klingons vs v'ger was the best part. We got to see not just a new photon torpedo design, but a now iconic energy enveloping that battle cruiser. This effect was later used by an energizer batteries commercial.

When you absolutely positively need to crash the Enterprise, put Deanna at the helm. :-D

I remember seeing Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi) at a convetion and she was bemoaning in her usual style the fact that the ONLY two times she is given a chance to steer the ship, both times she crashes it! On reviewing this I found it even more amusing that Picard actually calls her Deanna and not Troi as if guiding a daughter in reversing off the drive!

the scene in 2009 when George rams the ship. His extreme love for his family gave him no choice but sacrifice his life for those he loves. Good men must do horrible things in order for other to sleep peacefully at night. tears every time.

Dang good job! You managed to include most if not all of the Star Trek franchise. I'm glad you did say by your own choice which makes it a personal selection. I tend to put mine into what made me laugh the loudest and cry the hardest and what rare moments that just made me think. But that's Star Trek. That's what it does. It makes you laugh, it makes you cry, and everything in between. But, to me, the best thing is it gives you hope and something to dream for. That certain sense of Enterprise.

I loved that scene from Star Trek 3! Stealing the Enterprise from space dock... Scotty had sabotaged Excelsior... The doors opening up just in the nick of time... Classic!

Not sure about scene but the best score was undoubtedly during kahns surprise attack on the stunned and sitting enterprise. Epic!

Even though I disagree with a few of these, I love that you put this together. My picks are: The Motion Picture: Kirk's shuttle approach to the Enterprise. Fantastic music paired with the kind of glory shots of the ship that you just don't see anymore in Star Trek. The Wrath of Khan: We agree on this one. So much edge-of-your-seat tension on the tail end of a hard-fought battle. The Search for Spock: We agree on this one too. I loved the entire ship heist sequence from start to finish. The Voyage Home: There are so many great moments in this movie, but your choice stands out as my favorite as well. The Final Frontier: For me, the best scene hands-down is the one in which Sybok is getting McCoy and Spock to face their inner emotional pain. McCoy's is especially powerful (and very well acted by DeForest Kelley and Laurence Luckinbill). The Undiscovered Country: There are a couple of quiet moments that I really like (Spock with Valeris early in the film and Spock with Kirk late in the film), but the scene you chose is my favorite too for its sheer awesomeness. Generations: We agree here too. Probably the second-best Enterprise destruction scene in Star Trek history (after the scene in Star Trek III). First Contact: I really enjoyed the stuff with Zephram Cochrane. My favorite scene is the one in which Riker walks in on Cochrane and Troi getting drunk together. Insurrection: Just for the beautiful music, my favorite scene is the one that opens the film. Nemesis: We agree on this one. It was a very "Kirk" thing for Picard to do, but it worked well. Star Trek: From the acting to the visuals to the music, that scene with George Kirk's sacrifice was beautifully done. Star Trek Into Darkness: My favorite scene is the one in which Kirk is shocked into humility when Admiral Marcus's ship overtakes and threatens to destroy the Enterprise. I was a nice moment of growth for Kirk. Star Trek Beyond: I'm partial to the scene in which Krall is explaining his motivations to Kirk. It was a nice callback to Star Trek: Enterprise.

My favorite scene is "Wrath of Kahn": "You're looking at the only Starfleet cadet to ever beat the no win scenario." Then Kirk whips out the communicator and "Spock it's been to hours".

Spock's death in Wrath of Kahn, has been and always shall be the best scene.

“Double dumbass on you” really is the apex of modern cinema.

I also like Spock's journey to mind meld with V'Ger 2: Hard to pick a single best scene, but mine would be the sending of the Reliant command codes and lowering her shields remotely and sending Khan into retreat. 3: Entering destruct codes and death of the Enterprise. There is no other choice. 4: Reveal of Enterprise-A "We've come home." 5: Good choice. Also "What does....GOD...need with a starship?" 6: There is no other choice. Generations: Good choice... should've included Data's "Ohhhh shit!" Insurrection: Correct choice. First Contact: Good choice. Prefer Picard's Ahab moment, though. "The line must be drawn HERE!" Nemesis: The whole battle is awesome. I really enjoy the arrival of Donatra's warbirds though. 2009: Good choice. My preference is the "FIRE EVERYTHING!!" moment with nu-Spock and the arrival of Enterprise with phasers blazing. The music cue is baller there. Into Darkness: Spock Prime breaking his personal rule in order to tell nu-Spock about Khan. Beyond: The reveal of Spock Prime's "family photo". I wept like a child in the theater. I ain't too proud to admit it.

My personal favorites are definitely The Undiscovered Country and First Contact! Epic filmmaking!

I don't necessarily agree with your choice for Khan. I think it's just before that where they're going into the Nebula and you watch how Kirk strategically positions his ship to be right behind it after dropping down "3 dimensional thinking" that was better.

Stealing the Enterprise in Star Trek III was epic. Best scene from any Star Trek film. 2nd place goes to the Star Trek II scene you have where Spock sacrifices his life so the Enterprise can escape.

Great list.. A part of me still would have picked Spock's death in KHAN and the Kobiyashi Maru test in "Star Trek."

That is a really great list! Nearly all of them matched mine! Other good ones: The Enterprise A reveal at the end of The Voyage Home. Geordi can see the sunset for the first time with real eyes in Insurrection. The Enterprise gets ripped apart, Kirk's reflection in the escape pod, and then the saucer crash in Beyond.

Nemesis was probably my favorite of the TNG movies. The ramming scene was a really good element the writers finally used after teasing it several times over ST's TV and movie canon.

good analysis, my only issue is with what you picked for the first contact scene. I personally think the best part is when Picard realizes he must order his men off the shop and he apologises to Worf. The music, the editing, was PERFECT! "Mr Worf, I regret some of the things I said to you earlier... As a matter a fact, I think your the bravest man I've ever known.."

Great compilation , Really enjoyed it ! Funny thing, You can actually listen to this without watching it or while "surfing the net" , Because all the scenes play like "Music" now because we are so familiar with them. Ever notice that some movies can "sound" like an "album" ? It's kinda like putting on "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd. It's ingrained in our memory. Awesome, Thanks !

As much as Voyage Home is my favorite of the films, it is still funny how they changed the entire Bird of Prey bridge set and thought no one would notice. Then there's Scotty wearing the white shirt instead of the brown he had in the previous movie. But then, things seem to change inexplicably with every movie, lol

I agree with the list except the first Chris Pine Star Trek, my favorite scene is when young Spock was going to crash the Vulcan ship with the red matter into Romulan ship and the Romulans fired on him and Enterprise warped in and took out the missiles so Spock could complete the mission

I think the best scene in Star Trek V by far is the scene where Sybok makes McCoy and Spock re-live their pain.

If I'm perfectly honest, in my opinion the undiscovered country is the first one where you actually chose the best scene. Is that just me? However for the newer ones I do agree with your choices very much. For the older ones I felt like the chosen scenes were mostly the type of scenes where the movies tried to be dramatic, but didn't do a good job at all... For instance in the Motion Picture, my personal favourite was by far showing off the Enterprise in space dock. I felt like the movie was so bad in terms of action scenes, but that cinematography and the whole miniature work in the space dock scene was amazing, and (astonishingly) quite a bit better than Star Wars (especially in depicting a sense of scale), which was often considered the best of its time... But then, no doubt - Generations is just amazing, and the 2009 one, terrific!
