The BEST SCORE EVER for a FIRST TIME player in Geoguessr?

3 жыл бұрын

After blowing up several countries that I thought were different countries, I got told my geography knowledge was poor and challenged to play Geoguessr. I use lot of Google Street View in my job and think those skills paid off as I got several perfect scores on my first ever time playing Geoguessr. Could this be the best score ever for a first time Geoguessr player? Probably not, but I think I did okay- and didn't offend too many people in the process (I hope...)

You guys don't realize a "small" detail, the u.s., especially in those deserted areas is really, really empty, you got all the space you want because you have a low density of population, you can see it on the mapping of street view or the difference between the american railway system and the european one, the american one is really underdeveloped cause you have huge areas of nothing, in europe (both positivly and negativly) we don't have that

First of all, I gotta say you did really, really, exceptionally well for a first-time player. That being said, you were pretty lucky on your last two rounds IMO, spawning near loads of signs and everything. Sometimes you spawn in the middle of nowhere in Russia and there's no signs for miles (plus, Cyrillic so good luck), or perhaps you spawn in some gigantic North American residential area where you spend the first ten minutes trying to find the exit onto a main road. The worst one I've ever gotten was actually in a temple in India. Yeah. A guy with a Google imaging backpack walked around in the temple and Geoguessr decided to drop me there, out of all the mother f-ing places. I don't know a word of Hindi, but best of all, I was locked in the temple with no way to get out. My point is Geoguessr could be an arse sometimes, so be prepared to be very frustrated.

RCE doesn’t know enough to do no moving. It’s great when you have a lot of knowledge of roads, signs, license plates, etc. but RCE still needs to gain that knowledge through normal playing. If you want to add limitations, probably the best one for beginners is a time limit.

The only fair one is places where you don't know how to read the sign like Russia, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, China, Japan, Korea, etc. Even if you know the country by the letters it won't help you at all and you have to rely on numbers and landmarks.
