My favorite thing about that clip is not only did he lose that game, he lost the set. And I don't say that disrespectfully; Shuton is cracked and he played crazy in that set, but i just LOVE how some of the craziest, coolest moments in Smash aren't held by the winners. ANYONE can pop off in this game, even if just for a single moment off stage.

Not to say MK let his ego go to his head, but it's likely that he had thought with how well he's known for those characters that if his habits were being noticed so easily with Wolf and Corrin, it might have been dangerous for him to break out his "mainstay" characters. Even though they're his mains, the ones he's best at utilizing, there's still the dangers of familiarity.

It's safe to say Shuton had a ton of Joker practice, because prior to MKLeo, Zackray was considered the best Joker. I also never understood the Marth and Ike picks since, as respectful as possible, they were rusty asf and while it's not Proto's best character I'm sure Shuton's fought it in friendlies (which being the best Lucina, probably doesn't change much going to Marth) so Shuton would always be in practice with Joker (until Zackray left) and have similar practice against Marth (because Lucina/Marth from proto). Also, Aegis is the worst to pick against Shuton. He plays the character and hardly ever loses to it....And Leo's Aegis has got to be even worse then before he went to Japan to train his joker.

@@ayakaloyalist now if Shuton knows the Joker matchups when he fought Zackray. MKLeo should’ve done some research on the Olimar Matchup Chart on what characters beat Olimar before they meet again. Now it’s clear that he experienced the Olimar matchup before by the likes of Dabuz & Myran there are some other characters MKLeo could’ve atleast used to beat shuton with if they meet again in another tournament not for too long. Now if you say Aegis is an awful pick against Shuton’s Olimar then what about these characters that MKLeo has played or should counterplay against Shuton: Roy, Greninja, Sephiroth, Robin, Sora, R.O.B., Cloud, Zelda, Bayonetta, Bowser Jr and Kazuya would be very significant characters to beat Shuton’s Olimar in another tournament where they ran into each other again.

@@joshthethomasfanjustdances1119 Sephiroth is sadly one of the worst choices he could have made, a long hit box yes, but also a very straight forward one, almost all of Sephiroth's moves have some moderate end lag, and even trying to poke with forward or back air is difficult on such a small target. Bayonetta relies heavily on comboing, something that would be difficult with the whistle giving such massive super armor, so sadly she's marked off as well. The last one I'm aware of match up wise would be Robin, who has perhaps one of the most exploitable recoveries among the group, there are ways to mix up yes, but he still has to engage with Olimar or he'd just keep getting pelted by Pikmin until he's at Blue-Pik throw% Olimar can harass with projectiles, as well as cancel out Side B and Neutral B's threats (outside thoron) by ensure he always has a red or yellow Pikmin ready. To extend on this, the Levin sword deals electric damage, meaning Yellow Pikmin are completely immune to it, making it even harder for Robin to defend himself in air if the switch back to the Iron sword was not done yet.

Pika has great recovery and the way leo reads di. And dragdown confirms. Controlling space with t jolt. Magical opportunities. Can't tell you how many times leo has just not been able to make it back and loses a stock where pika would have kept him alive.

Shuton was ranked top 5 world in 2022 and like 2nd best in Japan Rn he's 6-7 world in 2023 and 3rd best in Japan
