About the maps: before, you had an ender Liles-esque abstract rectangle to represent the area as your default map with the ability to get a more detailed version from an npc, sort of like hollow knight. However people didn't know about this and complained, so in a recent patch they changed it to where the detailed map is the default and the map npcs now just give the areas completion percentage. Which is quite a bit better

I just finished 100% this game and Lady Ethereal section absolutely my favorite moment of this game. yes, include the platforming section. I think it's just amazing, especially the following your nymph the part that you have to run from it is so smart. And the other section you nitpick about I assume you talked about the factory. Abacus told you that you can't fully explore the area due to the hazard and should explored the far western area first. Great review but it feel like you just nitpick about this specific thing.

Being a first metroidvania game and as a person who would want sekiro DLC more than Elden Ring DLC (because combat > lore for a video game), this game was a god's blessing to me.

Spoilers: Alright so I will respond to some of your points probably not all of them and add a few of my own just for conversation. So for your first critique about the factory level about the fact that you can't explore freely in the level until you get the unbounded counter which felt restricting first off you can explore the level its just quite challenging secondly is this not the main facet for metroivania design about the fact that you can't explore a certain area until you get a specific ability the first time you get to this area its extremely imposing and threatening which prompts you to leave also about the placement of the ability in terms of when you get it lines up perfectly when you would want to explore the area after you have beat the first three main bosses. In terms of the lady ethereal area I actually had the opposite experience the platforming in my opinion was actually way too easy especially because it seemed like that was supposed to be an extreme focus on platforming for that section I thought it was a fun gimmick and required a bit of fast thinking while also being patient to see where the mystic nymph goes. This is one thing I've noticed about the game is that a lot of the criticisms mine's included are vastly different from each other or very divisive which I think is a great sign for a game. My critiques for the game is that the difficulty curve that you mention being good is in my opinion isn't the best in terms of the curve for a lot of the main bosses I think it doesn't scale enough the bosses did not feel that much more difficult than the previous one pretty much all of the bosses could be beat on my playthrough in like 5 tries that doesn't make the boss bad but the difficulty curve not good especially because of the massive spike of difficulty on the final boss. Final note about the mini-bosses I thought most of them weren't annoying but rather extremely forgettable however I do actually think 3 of them in particular are some of my favorites in the game and extremely well designed and serve the purpose of a mini-boss quite well.

Really disliked this game, the gameplay has way too many core flaws that makes this a complete chore to play. Big fan of classic MVs and Sekiro, this game however, is just a mess.

Let's get this out of the way: this game is INSANELY far from any Sekiro comparisons or being the best 2d soulslike metroidvania. The combat is tedious, the enemies have too much health, the story is retarded, the death penalty is entirely too punishing, the levels are very very poorly designed, the music is insanely samey and boring, and the only truly amazing 10/10 about it is the graphics and artwork. Games like Bloodstained, or Vigil: The Longest Night are several magnitudes better.
