Great review. Got a pair and love them. I have trouble keeping conventional ear buds in my ears and find them generally uncomfortable. These are super comfortable and they sound surprisingly good - perfect for my purposes like listening to good reviews like yours as well as podcasts. Really first rate.

Thanks for the great review! I bought the Oladance just before the Shokz release... Before I knew that an open ear design was coming from Shokz. I have maybe 20+ premium bluetooth earbuds (premium being $130 to $300, 3 Samsung, 2 Shure - my most expensive - then Apple, KZ, Soundcore, Sony and others) and then probably another 30 or so random BT earbuds from $30 to $125. So I own a lot of these, all in search for the perfect BT earbud/headphones. All that said, I love the Gen 1 Oladance, but even they aren't perfect. Everyone seems to rave about Oladance's comfort, but that's my number one issue with them. I wear earbuds all day for work, podcasts and music, so comfort is second only to sound quality. The Oladance are comfortable, until you wear them all day, where they start to make various points of your ears sore (at least for me). Other than some comfort issues, I love the Oladance! They are near perfect. Based on your review I will probably at some point be purchasing the Shokz, with their only (pre-purchase opinion) drawbacks being the limited touch controls and possibly battery at 7 hrs vs Oladance at 16 hrs. I'd give up the amazing battery life for improved comfort as long as sound quality was equal to or better than Oladance, which it sounds like it is. Again, I love your reviews and appreciate this review in particular!

Hey Andy, I really appreciate the detail you go into and the visuals are always on point! This really helped my decision as to whether to buy the Openrun Pro or Openfit as I was worried these would block more surrounding sound when I'm cycling since they are still over your ear opening. Would you say there is much difference between the two with how much spacial awareness you have? Thumbs up and subscribed - shame Shokz didn't give you a discount code we could use ;)

Returned mine yesterday. I really liked them, super comfortable, secure fit and good calls. But, ultimately I returned them because they use touch controls and my running hat with a neck shade cloth (I live in Florida) which I run with, when it gets wet, accidentally touches the bud controls and change tracks, stop/start etc, super annoying. If these had buttons then they would be perfect. They also fit my ears "high" and don't fit in my canals, my ear shape means the bud part doesn't insert in the canal, instead it rests above my canal.

The volume on the phone quality segment is a little low outside of that it's pretty good. This is the first open ear product that's got my attention 8.5 grams is well you know. I think in another year I'll be ready to try this style. Thank you Andy always enjoy your work. 💯🙏🇺🇸

Great review. Can you do another a few months later? I am sure there will be firmware updates, speakers loosening up and you can see how the battery life has progressed. One thing I don't like is no physical buttons, since wet fingers don't work well with touch pads! I have seen direct comparison reviews with the Oladance and OneOdio on other KZfaq sites, and yours is interesting.

Hey Andy new subscriber here. Watched a few of your videos and you really come off as honest, a nice guy ,and with very thorough HELPFUL reviews. I have owned the Oladance gen 1 for about 2 years and overall think they are great. I got the bug to get a second pair of Open Ears . Not sure why ? I was drawn more to the Cleer Arcii's despite I have seen some reviews saying they MAY be a bit uncomfortable for "some"..and maybe, a bit buggy. Anyway I suppose you will be doing a review for those soon haha but good or bad, I had placed an order a day before seeing THIS good Shokz review. Are you able to JUST comment..on, if the Cleer's sound quality is as good or better than the Shokz and or Oladance?. Not asking on any other part as I suppose you'll be doing a review... 😄 I know you are not sponsored by any company here, but being given ear buds vs buying them, maybe it's difficult to answer honestly Cleer vs Oladance or Shokz... Anyway that was my question...if you are able to answer in any way..:)

Plus openfit only dimensions and weight. Everything else is cons. :bass, operating time, volume, price, microphones, control, if they were cheaper. Then they would be competitors, and so they are more expensive than everyone else and not justified. Oladance lacks enable mode. Remained at his place if you need sound and work time 1) oladanceows2, 2) openrock button for sports. if the sound is clear, then ckeer arc, arc2, if the convenience is accuracy, openfit. Openrun pro is bone plus air, we are waiting for Haylou PurFree Buds OW01
