Hello! We were in Madeira for Christmas and our boys came for the holidays. We do usually bring chocolates back to Canada. Madeira has a place called Uaucacao and they make amazing chocolate. Hope you had a wonderful holiday season. Thanks for watching. Cheers! M&D

You noted embroidery---we looked **all over** the shops and markets in Lisbon and Porto for cloth napkins, with either an embroidered rooster or with various azulejo patterns for family who use them and came up empty! The women in a large linens shop across the street from Mercado do Bolhão said that the best they could suggest was to buy one of their large azulejo tablecloths and for my wife to cut it up and make them herself after we got home. We ended up buying dishtowels with the rooster at a souvenir shop. Have you ever seen cloth napkins with anything that would be a unique Portuguese pattern? Thanks!

Hello Stephen, Well I have searched around in my travels the last week and I did not find cloth napkins switch embroidery. Pretty much everything else. Hi Doug and Monique! Happy New Year from the GTA. Great video with some lovely suggestions! We’re heading back to Madeira in the new year and would love to visit that Continente. Where is it in Funchal? Also, do you have a recommendation for coffee cream? Last year we had to make our own blend using whipping cream and milk - a bit ghastly but we couldn’t find 10% coffee cream. Any suggestions w/b appreciated.

January and February are the coolest months. If sunny its nice and warm (17-18 degrees on average) but If rainy it can be cool and windy (8 degrees). Stay on the South coast.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find the colorful soaps you pointed out. The ones that appear on 8.34 of the video. Can you help me out, please.

Hello! Yes the displays and the merchandise change. I was just in Continente in Cancela and they had the soap with the Christmas theme, as well as the lemon ones and others. Also Pingo Doce has some other pretty wrapped soaps that are beautiful for gifting. Also, the airport here at Madeira has nice soaps!!
