He's balanced actually, not OP. He's reliable because of his kit, nothing too broken. If he was OP he'd be banned every single game. He's good, but not broken, he can't really sustain that much compared to other tanks, his damage ain't high but consistent, his ult has a channeling time so long, his cc lock is long but has gaps allowing for counterplay, and his mobility is just there.

@@naimazhari6172 Karrie's popularity skyrocketed because of her buff and then the changes on DHS, GS, and Corrosion combo. Make sense if she's OP, but Fred didn't get any adjustment. Therefore him being popular now is very surprising.

He’s really weak until level 4 which he can pretty much 1v2 in any lane if you hit his ult in the centre.

Well, his damage is from his lost hp. With a fighter build he would be a squishy, might be oke during laning phase, not so much during teamfight.

He's better full defense and with either tank or support emblem imo (jungle emblem if you're jungling ofc)

play martis to countner him or heroes who have interrupt maybe chou, badang? paquito?. U either gun him down quick so that he can't fire his ult or u get gunned. A good marksman also does this job maybe melissa or lesley or clint. I recommend ganking him with a burst mage a tank and a marksman 2v1 is a bad pick as he will mostly come in top or just run away. Hero such as hayabusa lancelot or benedetta are well almost impossible to kill from fred as his chase is bad unlike akai or JS so yeah a good blink does the job. Also he is fairly balanced to be fair not too op not too bad a solid high a tier hero. His ult animation is too long to be fair so u count take advantage of that its not like of Balmond also his cc has a very short range. His only hard counter is interrupt skills due to his dependency on skill combos however burst mages and MM work fairly well against him however he does couner most of the tanks so he is like an anti-tank in my opinion.

I agree Esmeralda is still annoying in the right hands but now you need a lot of core items before engaging in teamfights, unlike before where you can rely mostly on ur thickness to sustain in teamfights. And if the ennemies bought antiheal early you need ur tank items even faster. Plus she can't sustain that long anymore in teamfights because of the constant nerfs on her shield,add to that there are many menaces to esmeralda in the current meta like dyrroth, lunox, karrie, wanwan... which makes her a last pick. I think she lost her title of being " the most broken exp laner" and there are more viable picks that can target the backline, sustain well and deal decent damage to finish the ennemies off quickly before they have a chance to react and kill you( in other terms do esme's job better than her). Esmeralda has no cc skill to hinder the ennemys mm or mage, plus if the ennemy mm bought pen items he can reap esme easily no matter how much defense she've got. Her lane clear is slow in mid to late game. Her damage is barely good to make any difference in teamfights. That's all what's wrong with esme in the current meta. She's still a decent pick, but not the hot top pick in mythic 2 and above anymore like before. If you notice her popularity even in game decreased by a lot and I've heard she has one of the lowest wr . As an Esme main that knows all of this ( still maining her tho, playing her is addictive to me xD), I hope they buff her either give her more dmg , more mobility or/and more cc reduction ( cause im not sure if it will be too op buffing all of these features in her)

@georgio bou sleimen I totally agree with what's wrong with Esmeralda, Moonton should really buff her in some way to make her more of a viable pick (either in terms of mobility, dmg, cc effects, cc reduction or sustain)

@@angelsangalang3445 I have a lot more to say about her. The fact that her mobility relies on a big part on the emblem is just not it . While I want to add points for the cd red on the emblem ( mage or support avarice emblem) so I can reach my 45% cd red faster , I feel its not right since her mobility will decay by a lot which will not help u in either chasing or escaping ennemies. The fact that there is no room for mistake with her also is frustrating as well. One wrong ult and boom, you're dead, your sustain wont save your ass like before. You get cc chained, slowed to death that you can't do sht anymore. Plus one cc can immediately stop her momentum and also boom... the ennemy team took you down quickly . Slow effects are worse , you just feel helpless. Her source of damage is only her second skill after u used ult. You won't rely on ur basic attacks since they are so slow, low damage and if u keep basic attacking waiting for ur second skill to cd then you find that the ennemy already escaped u. She has low damage that give the ennemy enough time to kill her especially if they're equipped with antiheal. Antiheal is worse. Once the ennemy got it, ur useless. Its like the hero doesn't exist anymore in the game . Late game marksmen kill you in seconds. In early game you have to farm very well and cant do much like other exp laners or else its suicide. You have at least to farm dominance ice ( and the removed 10% cdr from it which makes her build path worse) and oracle to become a bit tanky and to be able to contribute to teamfights. If you compare her to exp laners like yu zhong or freya who at level 4 can do wonders , then you'll know what I mean. It's all about early efficiency. I have many buff suggestions for her if you're curious to hear them out but honestly Esmeralda in the current meta is lacking so much game-changing mechanics and the fact that she's easy to counter will not motivate u to pick her in rank anymore. They should really make adjustments that make her viable again and competitive in the current mm meta.

@georgio bou sleimen Her nerfs, leaving little to no room for mistake and heavy counters are a problem, but as long we know our limits when playing Esmeralda (or any other hero) she can still do well but they are a little hard to move on

Esmeralda is not that strong compared to say, Freya and Yu Zhong. But she is stronger than weak early game heroes like Alice and Aldous (which in the early game they are lacking) during the laning phase (and based on my experience, Chou has a hard time against Esmeralda during the laning phase)
