Honestly, I can't believe I missed G4, lol. What a great tequila and one of my favorites. I haven't tried Tapatio, yet, and its on my list. I have unopened bottle of Mijenta. That one is next. Cascahuin is another great tequila that is locally available for me. And for over $100 ArteNom 1146 anejo is great choice. All of those tequila are available locally for me except Fortaleza, that is impossible to find now. I have one bottle and I feel bad to crack the cap, because I know I won't be able to buy another one. So I just keep it for a special occasion. Cheers

Ocho is whack. Fortaleza (if you can find it), G4, and Siete Leguas are way better. Their plantations and distilleries are Mexican-owned and operated, and they use traditional methods to produce their tequilas.

The grand centenario is good, but if you want an overall good & affordable brand look for arrette & tapatio. If you want s tier, go for fortaleza & G4. If you want A tier go ocho & cascahuin.

@eliwilson8242 i like casa noble repo allot. Casa dragoness blanco. G4 blanco. Herradura is solid. Socorro is really good. I've heard from coworkers that the repo tastes just like clase azul repo but it's WAYYYY cheaper and part of it goes towards orphanages/charity. I do like tres agaves repo but it just tastes a bit harsh for me tbh. And cimmaron is good but i usually only put it as a mixer. They're both well tequilas. Definitely not middle shelf. But still solid choices for mixed drinks imo.

Caballitos Blanco is my go to sipping tequila currently. If I want age, I'll get a G4 Repo, or maybe a Siete Leguas Añejo. For shots, Cimarron Blanco is perfect in my opinion.

Herradura is good, but if ur gonna sip, go for the anejo or ultra anejo cristalino. If you want something nicer, go for casa dragoness repo or joven if you want something soft but not sweet. Komos is good for a sweeter tequila. And casa noble is a good middle shelf and is pretty strong. The anejo especially has lots of citrus notes. Fortaleza is also good if you can find it. Pretty hard to come across.

@zacherycampbell7296 that's entirely incorrect. They have plenty of flavor. It's just a bit smoother. Cristalino is a majority of what people in Mexico drink. They definitely don't lack flavor. Gran cormino(kevin harts) is very peppry and toffee noted repo cristalino. All that happens in the process is it is processed thru activated charcoal to remove the yellowish colors and enhance the floral and fruity notes.

@saabstory8249 not really an insult. It's like a splash of agave nectar. Herraduras is already more of a caramel honey and almondy flavor so it just adds a bit of sweetness to it for those who enjoy that.

I tried tequella straight up. Its so strong and wrong in my mouth i hadvto use lemon to gwt it down. Aging it still makes it taste awful. Mix drinks, enjoy it and say suck it up princess to people who say you are not a man if its not drank straight. Alcohol alone tastes like crap. So fix it by mix it. Cheers!

Well if you have a nice añejo you can mix it with some sweet vermouth and bitters with a garnish of orange to make a distrito federal, definitely worth a try for Manhattan fans

Hurradura is ok, but mass produced, probably with artificial additives. Centenario is made by Jose Cuervo and is definitely cheaply made with a lot of additives. Try to get traditionally made options like El Tesoro, Siete Leguas, or Arette, which should be available in most areas.

In my limited experience of tequila, price doesn’t guarantee a better one but cheap ones are almost never pleasant. I find that even if I’m using tequila to spike a soft drink or make a simple cocktail, a good tequila is way more pleasant than a mediocre one - and that usually means an expensive one. The same is true of rum, but as I know a lot more about rum, I know a few cheap brands that are tolerable.

I would totally go a Cristalino - lots of anejo flavor with all of the rough edges smoothed off. Currently drinking the 1800 but there are many other brands in this style.

The flavored/additive tequilas like those are not my thing. Cascahuin, El Tequileno, Don Fulano, El Tesoro, La Gritona, Tequila Ocho, and Fortaleza (hard to find) have been some of my recent favorites.
