Nice review! It's always interesting to see travel gear videos. Having a good backpack is key to a good trip, it's no fun to be battling with your gear the whole time!

I've only used the bag a few times so far, but I honestly use the sling as my daily carry for bringing to work with contacts, travel toothbrush, phone charger, just sort of "what if I need it?" kind of stuff and it's wonderful

I have both. I love them both! I have the duffel Pakt One in the beautiful blue and the Pakt Travel backpack in black. I mostly use the backpack. I use it for weekend trips to my friends' houses, to hotels out of town, on road trips and camping trips. I use the duffel as backup in case I take more than just my clothes or if I go for longer than a weekend. For instance I use it for my extra shoes, my hair dryer, my coats, my extra towels, my snacks, or my books. The bulkier stuff. But for the most part I manage to take everything I need in the backpack.

I’m a back pack guy too. Been using an LL Bean one for traveling. Not great, but it does have the stitching at the bottom of the laptop sleeve keeping it from smashing on the ground. This thing looks AWESOME! Love the clamshell suitcase type opening. Sometime I’d love to see a video of how you stretch an Epidemic sound song from 3 minutes to 5 minutes. I try to find similar areas of the song and use a transition in Premier. Wondered if there was an easier way?

Good review. Cool bag. You missed showing how you "quick access" the laptop from the top of the bag. Also, it seems you didn't actually have the laptop in the bag when you loaded your stuff into it. Looked like it might be a tight fit since the laptop sleeve was curved up a lot from the gear behind it. Overall good stuff!

So does this replace a carry on? Or people travel with a carry on and then this backpack on their back? My only doubt is, if youre a photographer, and when you arrive at your destination you like to have a backpack to carry your camera, like the Wandrd Duo, how do you do it? Do you take the Wandrd Duo as your backpack on the plane and a bag like the Pakt Travel Backpack as your "carry-on" bag?

I really enjoy your videos. Please follow-up with a mention or a review after you've traveled with it for awhile. I've got a Nikon backpack with about 250K miles on it. It's one very tough pack. But, I can't fit a 400 mm lens and... well much of anything else, so the right pack could turn my head.

This looks to fix the issues I had with the Pakt One. Hate the fact that it isn't rectangular so packing cubes and folded clothes never sit right. The other grip was that the front pockets only expand on the inside edge. They're pretty much useless if the bag is packed to capacity.

Hmm... I don't have a sleeve that I can test that with, but there is still a bit of extra room on my MBP 16". Not sure if it's enough for a sleeve though

You could hide your stuff in the fanny pack and put it in back in as hip strap and when you tuck the straps you can tuck the hip straps into where they slide through

Lost me with the suitcase style way that it opens. I'd try it though to see how I truly feel about it, but, as of right now, I like being able to get things out of my pack when I am still wearing it. This looks like you have to take it off to get to the interior bits, which I would consider a hassle on hikes and stuff.

I think I somewhat agree, the best backpack is the one that fits your needs the best on your budget and for many people it will be different. Some time ago I went and purchased a WANDRD backpack and honestly love it, fits what I do perfectly and because I use it so often it is nice to have a premium well made item as your daily driver ^^

It's almost there, I really need to be able to strap things to the outside....but if you're a backpack guy, then you should really check out the Radpak by MOUNTNGO. It's my go to bag nowadays AND it's a 37.5L bag! Mic Bergsma did a great video on it. BUT OOOOOO! A removable waist strap. All bags should have that Gong back and reading this...I feel like a shill ;D . But seriously, it's good stuff

@@PortalFPV Isn't that usually the case? I just looked at the Radpak, and you'd have to move things strapped to the front to use the pocket on the front. Same with anything large strapped to the side if you want to use the little pocket on the side. How is that different from Pakt? Personally I wish I could get something with the materials and minimal branding of the Pakt but with the pocket-free exterior of the Cotopaxi Allpa 35L. I'm looking for a carry-on that slides easily into overhead compartments and under seats vs. a backpacking pack, but everyone's preferences are different.

Anyway, I like the Pakt, and I'm glad they included all those attachment loops so I can strap things to the outside or not with whatever kind of straps I prefer, or keep it sleek for sliding into cramped overhead bins.
