Hey y'all! I'm really glad that I could make this video. Compositing is often the most overlooked aspect of 3D artwork and this simple method can improve your renders immensely. This is legitimately one of my favorite tools and I use it for almost everything I make now to sell realism and grant my work a more cinematic feel.

I've been looking for this information for a while - this tutorial was exactly what I needed! Please make the addendum about the image sequence! I'm getting the glare pack now :)

Useful note on additive vs mix blending, mix is the physically accurate option, since the light dispersed by diffraction has to be factored out of the original image. Obviously when making art one isn't constrained by physics, but it is an important thing to be aware of if the goal is realism.

Do you think in a future video you could do a tutorial on how to make a realistic moon type surface for close up renders on the surface of the moon?

For a tutorial idea, I think it would be neat if you showed how to make a realistic solar eclipse in Blender in honor of the upcoming eclipse next week.
