Instant Pot turkey is one of the fastest ways to cook a turkey breast, as well as capture and enhance the flavor of the turkey. By using the pressure cooker you will be able to get the flavor of roasting a turkey in less than half the time.
HOW LONG DO YOU COOK POULTRY IN THE INSTANT POT?
The general rule of thumb for cooking poultry in the Instant Pot is 6 minutes per pound with a 10 minute NPR (Natural Pressure Release).
4 lb Turkey or Turkey Breast = 24 minutes + 10 minutes NPR
8 lb Turkey or Turkey Breast = 48 minutes + 10 minutes NPR
WHAT DO I NEED FOR THE TURKEY BREAST RECIPE?
Ingredients:
Turkey breast
Olive oil
Smoked paprika
Italian seasoning
Salt
Pepper
Garlic

I just finished eating the best turkey breast I have ever cooked. My family loved it, too! Thank you for the best recipe! My turkey breast was 8 lbs, so I cooked it 50 minutes. I let it slow-release for 20 minutes, then covered it in foil for 15. Perfect! Thanks, again!

You could take the leftover liquid in the pot, turn on the saute button and add a cornstarch slurry to make a sauce if you wanted.

This turned out really good! I put my turkey on a trivet so it wasn’t sitting directly in the water. I also seared a little before cooking and then finished it off in the oven on “broil” for better colour and crispiness!

This turkey was so succulent, I used a Butterball Turkey that was breast meat only still on the bone, and the meat fell off the bone as I was cutting it. I made this this Thanksgiving, slightly different seasoning but pretty much the same and it was amazing. Are usually spend hours making brine and soaking turkeys overnight. This was the first time ever tried just a turkey breast and this really was about the best I’ve ever had. After taking it out of the instant pot I threw on some foil and put it on the low setting for my broiler for a while to get an nice texture and Browning.

Did you do the 10 min NR still if your doing the broiler? I have a ninja foodi that I thought about putting on the crisper afterwards and didn't want to over cook it.
@ShaneZettelmier
@ShaneZettelmier 2 жыл бұрын
@@Perfect_Storm4 I really don’t remember, I probably just put it in the broiler for a couple minutes just to dry the top out. It was very very moist so I wasn’t worried about over cooking it at all. I do that with most of the meat I take out of an instant pot like ribs or anything like that just to give it a little texture

Crispy is mandatory in my family. If it is not crispy, it just looks unappealing. Could you have made gravy from the liquid in the pot? Forgive my ignorance, as I am just starting out. I am almost 80 years old and found myself on my own. Neither my mother nor my wife "allowed" me in the kitchen, so I am a real newbie. However, I am enjoying my cooking journey. I even enrolled in cooking classes at Community College. Thanks very much for your work. Mike

Please do a whole turkey- stuffed if possible. I’m determined to do a small 8-9 lb stuffed turkey this year in the Pot. I don’t care about crispy skin ( could always put it under the broiler for a few minutes if I did), but I really think the taste will be exquisite with the pressure mixing the stuffing with turkey this way. I’m sooo glad I had subscribed when I did; I was literally petrified using my Pot at first, but now you can’t pry it from my fingers- all thanks to you!! Happy Thanksgiving to all! 🤗

When coming down from pressure, it still continues to cook. Letting it rest for 10 minutes or so lets the juices settle so it remains moist and tender.

One thing I found is that you can't go by the weight stated on the packaging. For the brand that I bought, the 5.8 lbs on the tag was the full package weight, but by the time I removed the packaging, liquid, and gravy packets the breast itself weighed only 3.8 pounds. If I had just gone by the tag weight, I would have cooked the breast for 1/3 longer than needed. 24 minutes high pressure and 10 minutes slow release in a 6 qt. Instant Pot Ultra brought the 4 lb. breast to the recommended 180 degrees. It appears I'll no longer have to worry about dried-out turkey!

I see you set it for 24 or 25 min....how much did the meat weigh and where did you get the turkey? You mentioned cutting it apart and I could see on the meat what looked like mesh/string marks. Sorry to everybody for what are probably very basic questions. Thank you for your response! Please have a blessed day and stay safe & healthy
