I just replaced my cheap LG soundbar for this one. And I am not impressed at all. The sound feels muted somehow, the voice enhancement HAS to be on, otherwise it sounds very dark. The sound field effect makes everything sound fake and odd. Only 3 settings for the sub volume, no setting for treble or mid tones. I have a new so y tv too, and the “use tv as center speaker” make no difference at all.. There’s a volume control delay when you turn it up or down, so it takes way too long time to turn the volume up or down.. I need a few more days for testing before I return it to the store. Very disappointed, and all these reviewers make it sound like it’s top of the line sound. It is stuffed with useless features that only makes it sound worse. I have watched SO many reviews on this soundbar before deciding to buy it, it’s a lot of money. And I feel cheated, and clickbaited. They all got this from sony for advertising, and it shows in their overly positive reviews. Don’t listen to these guys. It had a cheap LG soundbar, and it blows this one out of the water. I don’t know what it is with youtubers these days, every product they review is just fantastic apparently 😔

Thanks for review. Does it power on same time when switching on Sony tv? Is there need to set volume from sound bar remote, or is working fine from Sony tv remote? Some speakers are bit annoying when always need to tune volume from both tv and speakers.

Hi Karl, Shall I buy Sony HT-A3000 along with two rear speaker or Sony HT-A5000 only. Soundbar cabinet what I have does not have much space for upwards firing speakers, soundbar will slide inside the cabin, this is the reason I am hesitant to buy Sony HT-A5000, since its upward speakers will inside the cabinet ?

Having a bit of an issue with the rear speakers , they pass the calibration test. Yet when I go back to watch TV they sound very low. I have the RS3S rears with the 5000 5.1.2 sound bar

Tbh just buying nice headphones for much cheaper and pair them by Bluetooth to a apple tv or android tv is the way to go. Nowadays

I tested this out with a X85K I got for my bedroom. Not good at all for the price. You’re better off getting the Sony HT-G700 for 200-300$ cheaper as it comes with a woofer and is 3.1 as well. I ended up replacing it with the A5000 for around 200$ more and the 2 upfiring speakers made a world of a difference. Especially with the A5000 going on sale it’s a really good buy compared to the A3000.

600 is breaking the bank for me. Lol. I got a 160 on Amazon and its pretty great.

Once you add those rear speakers and a subwoofer you are close to 1500 USD (in Canada, maybe more than 2000 CAD), not exactly hitting the “sweet spot” 😂
