I wish movies and TV would stop portraying Vikings as dirty, screaming, half naked barbarians wearing furs & dull clothing. The ancient Norsemen caried about their grooming practices, cared about hygiene, and liked to wear colorful clothes when they had the money to do so. And even the poorer Viking raiders who couldn't afford armor would not be fighting naked (especially since northern Europe is very cold). They'd at least wear some extra layers of clothes or padding which provides at least some protection against bladed weapons.
