Thanks Case, you are 100% correct about physical labor running a manual mill. You and the family have a great Sunday.

Yes sir. It’s great for the intended use, but by no means is it a production machine. If I can save on my own projects and mill a few custom items on the side, I’m more than happy with that. The mill should be able to quickly pay for itself.

Woodland Mills was a good choice for me as well because I bought the HM130 in 2019 along with the track extension and trailer but now it's time to upgrade to the Max. I won't got the trailer this time though because I plan to permanently mount the new mill on the side of my barn and build a saw shed around it. Good review!

Great video Case. Be nice to have one of those, but there are a few fellas around here doing that work, so if I need some thing, which I did last summer, they are less than a half hour away from me. And I agree with Dave, you should be a spokes person for Woodland Mills. Have a great Sunday.

Thank you sir. I see a few guys with them around here too. I hope you have a great Sunday as well my friend 👍

This was great information, thanks. We would love a mill like that but we do not have the supply of trees

That is a major consideration. I am actually working on a video that discusses that pretty soon! 👍

Good video, good review. I owned an lt40 woodmizer for 6 years. They are overated for price, but the do a good job. After much research I'll probably get an hm130 max. The only thing I think I'll miss will be the hydraulic log turner/holder. If they still rely on that damn lever to start the sawmill it's a big negative. I changed mine to electric throttle and centrifugal clutch. Sold it. Still toting wood.
@BuildALotAcres Жыл бұрын
Thank you. The Woodland Mills can be outfitted with electric start from the factory. The lack of hydraulics means more work, but for the price you pay, I think they are still a great choice.

Good points and good video. I would like to mill, but I don't know that I have the supply or local market to support the investment. I definitely don't have the time right now. But it is interesting!
@BuildALotAcres Жыл бұрын
Thank you sir 🙏 I hear you about the time. With the amount of projects you can do though, and your amount of property, I think you’d pay for it in no time!

@@BuildALotAcres The problem is most of the mature hardwoods were taken down by a tornado in 1974, so I don't have tons and tons of mature oak available. I'm probably about 10 acres wooded, with about 2 of that being mostly pine and 3 or 4 being hard to access for skidding. Maybe with an extra cable and use of a snatch block I could access more.

@@BuildALotAcres my dad bought a Troy-bilt Horse model in 1978. It was mail order at the time. It had a 7hp Kohler. In 2002 we sold it for more than he paid. He wore out many sets of tines. The Woodland Mills HM130MAX will be worth more than we paid in 20 years.

@@BissellMapleFarm I think you’re right. I believe bandsaw mills will continue to increase in popularity….and in price!!!

The dust tends to be minimal with Pine and with a sharp blade

I don't agree with you, I think it's OK but not good, it's so flimsy, metal is too thin. I own for 2 years and it's falling apart. The roler guides not good.
@BuildALotAcres8 ай бұрын
What brand do you think is better at the same price point?
@sergeystrizheus33688 ай бұрын
I ordered already woodmizer 15.its more expensive but it's good one. I'm sure cheaper woodmizer is still better
@BuildALotAcres8 ай бұрын
@@sergeystrizheus3368 Definitely not the same pricepoint. Are the wait times on the Woodmizers still 18-24 months?
@sergeystrizheus33688 ай бұрын
If you want good tool you have to pay more, but advantage is there trust me. They have them in stocks now. I'm not saying woodmill is absolute garbage, if you cutting only small diameter and only sometimes it's worth 5k. I build new tracks for it I had to fix blade gides couple times and i filling like it's going down soon. The cross membranes is super flimsy, I'm cutting big logs so not for me. Andi waited more then 12 months.
