I bought a GS a few weeks ago because I felt it was time to try out the brand. Only one word can describe the dial, "perfection". Everything, the polish, the graining, is literally perfect, even when viewing under a 10x loupe

2 years on and the commentary of the watch alongside with the visuals still give me goosebumps. You have made me want to own one from the day I watched this video and I still do.... I guess that's the type of staying power this watch has.

It's SO crazy how perfect a GS looks even under the closest macro perspective possible! GS may have a more industrial finish on it's movements but even they're looking beautiful under high magnification! Congrats for another great video.

I've had a Grand Seiko GMT for 5 years now, SBGE005, and the dial is just amazing. While it's not the snowflake version, Seiko have said the dial on my JDM version was even more sophisticated to make than the Snowflake. My Grand Seiko is my daily wearer, and I never get sick of the creamy sweeping of the second hand nor the near-perfect accuracy. It's so accurate that I had to measure it in years, not days. COSC becomes a laughing matter. My GMT was +15 seconds over the course of one year, so +1.25 seconds a month. I still can't get over it. My Rolex now only gets weekend wrist time.

Spring drive is my dream.... It really is the pinnacle of horology. Refusing to accept how incredible it is is like refusing to believe that electric drive is the future of automotive.

I have to add one of these to my collection. This channel is so addictive with the mysterious hands holding the watches, the perfect voice and the magical narrations. Love it!

Ok. This one got me. The shot at the end of the second hand sweeping over the dial really does feel like a jumbo jet or some other man made marvel flying over snow covered tundra. If Grand Seiko wasn’t so inaccessible - I think the closest store is over 200 miles from me - I would genuinely be looking to buy one.

I got my first Grand Seiko a few days ago. They are so worth the price!

I have my Snowflake for 2+ years, I had many more watches, other GS, more expensive, etc. But the Snowflake is still my favorite, I still adore the dial everytime I have it on my wrist.

That shot at 2:42 is beautiful af. Camera spins as the watch spins, making the sweeping second hand appears lile it's at stand still. Perfection!

Finally my fav watch gets the praise it deserves.. Wish to own it someday...

Bought my Snowflake today on the strength of this video. Normally a Rolex person this is a lovely additional to the collection. The titanium is a different feel per this video, it is a bit of a shock the watch is so light. Need to check the accuracy over the next few weeks. 🙂☘️🇮🇪

Honestly this is the best piece of writing about the SBGA211 that I've heard on KZfaq or read on watch news outlets. Bravo, Watchfinder & Co., that was beautiful.

As an industrial designer It just blows my mind how much effort they put into these tiny tiny masterpieces. The thought put into the small details makes you question why spend more money on certain watches other than their namesakes. This is purity at its best.

Great summary of my grail watch which I am now happy to own since few months. And having the pleasure to look at it in real is far more satisfying than looking at the best pictures and videos of it 😍 In a way it reminds me one of my favourite country : Iceland because it's ❄ and 🔥 at the same time.

Fantastic review and stunning macro footages. The one reason I'd take this over a Rolex or any other high end watch brand is the fact that the technology and craftsmanship put into GS watches simply cannot be replicated by even the best of replica watchmakers. With reps of daytona, subs, royal oaks etc..being very near identical (even down to the weight level) as their genuine counterpart, it always makes me question the authenticity of these watches when I see someone wearing it on the streets. I am also certain it would be the same vice versa.

I was looking at this watch and its dial in details at a local AD another day. I couldn't believe myself that I cried. Imagine how much work and how hard those watchmakers have devoted themselves into this watch. Never had the same feeling from my Omega or Rolex.

Always happy to see a GS come by. Huge fan of these watches. I tried the snowflake on and it is spectacularly beautiful, but at 41 mm just a smidge too large.. :-(

People complain about the resale value on Grand Seiko watches, and of course there are right. The watches Undisputedly are as good as any ie Rolex, Omega any high profile watch at the relative price range . If you expect a good resale price don’t buy a Grand Seiko.,these watches are for people who are not to concerned about the resale value. When you consider the labour cost in Japan are lower than in Switzerland, knowing the money has been spent on the watch not on hype and over advertising.

I've always appreciated the GS Snowflake, but your video and narration has taken it to a new level! I can picture looking at fresh powder when the video pans along the dial. Japan ski trip and watch shopping anyone?

I was lucky enough to hold a GS Snowflake last summer. The dial and smooth sweep of the blued second hand was stunning. This and a ceramic no date Submariner are the two watches that by far spoken to me the most.

By far and I do mean, by far, you are the most pleasant channel to follow if you are a watch lover. You nail it every time and the respect for the not obvious brands is very pleasant to notice. Big tumbs up. Glad to subscribe.

Is there an affortable version of this kind of a hybrid movement watch.Cause I love the fact that you will have a connection with the watch like in an automatic and the accuracy of the Qurtz.

JLC is underrated as well, but Grand Seiko is the most underrated brand in the world.

The quality of finish is just superb. When compared to a premium Swiss watch the price is ridiculously cheap - even more so on the used market. I want one.

I've been watching your GS videos as well as other's like Teddy and Jenni for a while now. Even went as far as to watch the entire lecture about spring drive linked from your how spring drive works video. Two days ago, I pulled the trigger and ordered a Snowflake Spring Drive ref. SBGA211 from Japan. Now I can't even focus on my job properly I'm so excited.

This is a beautiful beautiful watch. Although pretty simple in layout it screams "expensive". I can never afford these type of watches but I appreciate the video

I tried this watch on for the first time yesterday and was surprised by just how light it is. Before seeing it in person, I was concerned by lug to lug and height/thickness. After trying it on, I still think it could be slimmer. Not a huge fan of GS cases but dials are obviously next level.

I like your channel because I've always had a thing for mechanical watches, ever since I saw my flight instructor wear an Omega Speedmaster Professional back in 1967. I have to assume he wore a .321 "Moonwatch" because I first soled a Cessna in late 1968 and received a .861 Speedmaster as a BD gift in July of 1969 only 10 days after Apollo 11 landed on the Moon. We "space junkies" all know that Buzz Aldrin was the first person to wear a wristwatch on the moon (a .321 Omega Speedmaster). Neil Armstrong was reported to leave his "Speedy" hanging on the LEM's instrument panel for timing purposes because the built-in Bulova clock somehow lost its accuracy when approaching the Moon. I'd like to learn a little more about why Neil Armstrong left his .321 Speedmaster Professional hanging on the LM's instrument panel when Buzz Aldrin wore his first on the Moon. Thus the first "wristwatch" on the moon. As a matter of fact, there were many other clocks, including Bulova's sent to the moon before Apollo 11. Bulova's had a reputation of being the most accurate clocks at the time because of their "tuning forks" time crystals. But no Bulova could have been accepted as a "wristwatch" at the time because NASA had requested multiple wristwatch companies to submit their wristwatch timepieces for testing. Rolex, Omega, Hamilton and a few others submitted to NASA's request for submission of wristwatches. It seems not many other competitors cared to submit their brands. However, a few brands, like Rolex and Omega did. Omega won the contest for heat testing, vibration testing, and crystal testing. The Omega Speedmaster won the contest from only a very few submissions. If any other wristwatch manufacturer had known of the importance of NASA's request, I'm sure more than 50 wristwatch manufacturers would have submitted their wares. But they never bothered. Thus they lost the chance to become the "first watch on the moon". History is now complete.

Calling a Spring Drive Grand Seiko a quartz watch is like calling a Ferrari Enzo an electric car because it has a battery 😂

Almost the perfect watch. I wish it was 38-39 mm, it had micro adjustments, 10 mm thick and power meter on the back.

I've just found the most beautiful watch that I have ever seen. Thank you for that. The beautiful serenity of the face coupled with the absolute beast of a machine that is the spring drive make this an artwork that cannot be ignored.

I have just come back from USA. In Brazil where I live there is not a Grand Seiko boutique neither a seller certified. So I bought my Springdrive Snowflake through Chrono24 and pick it up in person at Brooklyn. I am very satisfied with it. One watch for all life.

Not one second lost in 3 days. Using 2 radio controlled clocks synchronised together. One Digital and one Analogue. Perfect so far. 🙂☘️🇮🇪
