Even after all these years I learned some huge techniques to perfect salmon which further proves my belief that Josh is a insanely talented and has almost single handedly saved GMM and launched this channel...... seriously Josh your an amazing Chief. DID YOU KNOW that the term "salmon" comes from the Latin salmo, which in turn might have originated from salire, meaning "to leap". The nine commercially important species of salmon occur in two genera. The genus Salmo contains the Atlantic salmon, found in the north Atlantic, as well as many species commonly named trout.

One way i've found to get crispy skin in an oven is to separate the skin once the salmon is done baking. Put the separated skin on a heat proof plate and broil it. It literally takes 2 minutes to get what is basically a crispy salmon skin chip.

Yes! I commented with the same tip 😂 although I'm admittedly not experienced with the pan method because, I don't know, I guess I've always cooked fish in the oven. But it's sooo delicious to crisp the skin up separately in the oven after cooking the salmon.

Salmon is probably the most-watched fishing. I live in a fishing place my cousin's boyfriend's job is to count the salmon, that's it. And wild salmon are only allowed to be fished in certain areas at certain times of the year. And most of the salmon is farm salmon, but the farms are great the fish are treated very well, and it's as clean as a fish tank can be

I just wanted to say my grandma used to love salmon and you taught me. Thank you I wish I could go to her still.

Honestly... Go for sushi. It's sacrilege to cook good salmon. (The best is just salmon nigiri with a paper-thin slice of lemon, rind included.) If you're wary about the idea of trying raw fish, I promise that it's *incredible*... And that's coming from someone who was raised vegetarian for 18 years.

@@werdfeefs7027 what are you talking about cooked good salmon is delicious in it's own right, and not everyone likes cold slimy raw fish. The only sacreligious thing to do to a good piece of salmon is douse it in tartar sauce.

@@Cripplified I have to agree with having a slight preference for it raw as well. But I love both cooked salmon and nigiri...as long as the salmon is no more cooked than medium rare at most. Overcooking salmon is tragic.

@@deprofundis3293 That preference that is fine. I don't particularly like Sashimi/Sushi , but if you like your fish that prepped that way, all the power to you. I just think it's a little overkill for him to say it's sacrilege to cook a good piece of salmon. Obviously don't overcook and dry it out. I hold the same standards with a good piece of beef. It's just that raw fish isn't for everyone, I can eat it and appreciate it, but I'd prefer it cooked with butter and seasoning on top of it.
