Don't read the new world translation. It's not an actual Bible. If you want Gods name check out the LSB or legacy standard bible. Look into the new world translation. The guy that made it changed it to fit his theology. They teach heretical ideas. But the LSB is based on the Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic but wonderful scholars. But please please research the issues with the new world translation. It's awful. It does everything it can to deny the Trinity and deny that Jesus is God.

Great video. I have the Cultural Backgrounds Study Bible and I really love that one. I think it is NKJV, and I also have a KJV chronological Bible, as well as a couple Catholic Bibles and an Orthodox Study Bible. I think these give a well-rounded approach when reading tough passages. I’m using the reading plan from Faith Womack and I intend to use the extra ‘free’ days in her plan to read the Inter-testament scriptures removed by Protestants. What I wouldn’t recommend is reading the Jehovah’s Witnesses Bible simply because they do not believe in the Trinity and they twist scripture to suit their own interpretation.

I have definitely heard about certain scriptures being twisted or certain words added to it to fit a certain narrative!! But I’m certainly going to have to check out the Inter-testament!! Do you like Faith Womacks reading plan??

@@saraavega I would consider getting an Orthodox Study Bible then because it explains all about the different translations and is really helpful for the big picture. I like her videos a lot and her reading plan seems to be well thought out. I also really love a lot of podcasts on Ancient Faith Radio. They have sooo many.

Do not use the New World translation for bible study. That "translation" was created by the Jehovah witness cult. They edited the Bible wherever it doesn't match with their doctrine. It's not a proper and has been criticized by many scholars who can read Greek and Hebrew. God's name (Yahweh) was never used in the New Testament, it was only used in the Old Testament. This is because the Old Testament is in Hebrew and the New Testament is in Greek. The New Testament uses the Greek word for Lord (κύριος) whenever talking about Yahweh. Matthew 3:3 for example. Jews started not to pronounce Yahweh's name out of respect so they would say Lord (Adonai) instead. English translors followed this tradition and translated Yahweh's name as LORD in the old testament. If you would like to read Yahweh's name in your Bible, I would recommend the LSB. It's a reliable translation made by Christian scholars.

I have several JW NWT bibles. I totally agree with you on the removal of God’s name, which the Holy Spirit inspired the OT writers to write down almost 7000 times. However, there is no solid evidence for using Jehovah in the NT. I recommend you check out the Legacy Standard Bible, which uses Yahweh in the OT but doesn’t insert it into the NT.

the New World Translation, published by Jehovahs Witness has been intentionally altered to fit their theology that Jesus is not God and is instead a creation of God. There are other Bible translations that stay true to the original texts and use Gods revealed name instead of LORD, please be cautious reading from the NWT

Here’s the thing. You can believe in Jesus and even love that Jesus, but that Jesus is the wrong Jesus. Jesus said that there would be many false Christs. Sadly, the LDS Christ is one of them. The reason many criticize LDS is because they are worshiping a deceptive false Christ. It’s difficult because he is largely the same as the real Christ, but with extra things added on in the Book of Mormon that are not true. The Bible (Genesis-Revelation) was inspired by God. But the Book of Mormon was created by Joseph Smith. Through his false scriptures he was able to deceive people into doing things he wanted, a classic example being how he had many wives. I hope you can leave the LDS and seek after the true and living Jesus. I understand it is hard because many times people’s entire families are LDS and leaving the Mormon church alienates you from your family and friends. But the real Jesus is not the Jesus of the Mormon church. I hope that all helps and made sense!

No, I will never leave. I believe it’s true and I believe that what I am taught is the truth. If others don’t agree with me then okay I’m not gonna argue because there is no point in arguing about something that isn’t gonna make any difference to either side. I love my church we are not a false church. We are true and we speak truth. Thank you for trying to look out for me I truly see the good intentions behind that message.

I would encourage you to read the new testament like a child. Read it with no preconceived notions about doctrine. Read it like it was your first time reading it. I don't even know you but I care about you. I have been researching the LDS organization for a while now and have found major flaws in it and contradictions LDS doctrine has with historical Christianity and the Bible. Please read the new testament. Try and get an easier translation to read because the KJV is hard to understand.

Please look onto the Jehovah's Witness book they call a Bible translation. They dont believe Jesus is God. There are translations that ise Hods Names. One is valled The Scriptures. Its really good. Another is called the Tree of Life Verdion. There is snother one called the Cepher, which i dont recommend to people, but it would be better than the Jehovah's Witness book.

I prefer the Esv Study Bible. The notes are great and the translation is more accurate than the NLT which is really helpful when studying. The language is simple to understand. But it's not a thought for thought like the NLT. The NLT is ok for reference but it's not the most accurate. My favorite is actually the NASB but it's not as easy to read.

The most accurate translation is stilled considered to be the NASB. I recommend the NASB 77 or NASB 95. Don't get the new woke 2020 version. Better yet, since you want a Bible with YHWH thought, get the newer LSB Bible. It's wonderful and is based on the NASB Bible, but specifically translated to include God's name. Ditch everything Jehovah Witness. I have a large Bible resource library with all the major non blasphemous "translations"... including what you showed. Good choices.
@tjmaverick1765

I love the NASB, but the 2020 update is not, "woke." If you are referring to gender language, the text is clearly italicized whenever they chose to clarify instances in which the Greek word 'adelphos' addresses a mixed crowd. Also, I recommend R. Grant Jones' very thorough Bible reviews. After reviewing numerous random verses, he scored it as more literal than the '95 text (though less literal than the '77).
