How To Repair a Down Jacket.
This video demonstrates how to make an invisible repair on a down jacket with a small tear. It also demonstrates how this repair can be reinforced and how you can complete a quick and easy repair. All repairs shows use Stormsure's Tuff Tape.
1. Ensure all the filling of the coat is pushed back in. Take one small patch from the Assorted Tuff Tape Patch Set and push it to the inside of the jacket with the sticky side facing towards you.
*pro tip: use tweezers to handle the patches to reduce the amount they are touched. The less the adhesive side is touched, the more sticky it will be.
2. Align the edges of the jacket material and apply pressure to ensure the patch sticks well.
3. You can reinforce this repair by sticking another small patch on top of the repair area. this will stop it from being an invisible repair but will make it stronger. (This reinforcement usually isn't necessary unless the jacket undergoes a lot of stress).
For an even faster repair:
1. Ensure all of the filling of the coat is pushed back inside, make the coat as flat as possible. (This isn't always essential but can help the repair look neater).
2. Stick a patch on top of the tear and apply pressure to ensure the patch sticks well.
