First thing I got for my X-95 was the pistol grip, but I'm saving the cutlass grip because I can fit my thick winter gloves in it.

same here. I honestly think the SAR was a better rifle than the X95. There are reports of it being more accurate too. I guess the X95 was an attempt to make it more convenient for the US market due to most Americans being used to the manual of arms of the ARFOW.

I got a 18.5inch barrel Tabor x95, with an m150 ACOG, manticore butt plate, military surefire light, bipod legs to boot too. I find my group size is pretty good but not the the best, but after zeroing with military M4/m16 zero card, then zeroing windage at 100m, elevation at 300m, I can hit targets at 450meters every time, so pretty good rifle system. Served wi british army infantry for 14yrs so used to the L85A2/SA80, served wi US Army Inf and still AD, so experience with the M4. Prefer bull pup over all even though they are heavier

I am also running an LPVO on mine, and a fairly light weight option. It’s a Meopta Optika6 that weighs about 19 Oz and a LaRue 1.93 QD Mount. It makes the gun feel super sluggish and heavy. I am looking to move to the Leupold Mk3 HD 1.5-4x. Should cut about 6 Oz off the top of the gun, and should help tremendously, but not sure it will be enough. Considering a 3x30 Acog.

What’s your take on having a vertical foregrip on the x95? Also it looks like you’re running your light at 1:30/2 o clock. Do you feel that is the best position for a wl on the x95? Thanks
@Tacticalfitnessaustin360
@Tacticalfitnessaustin360 2 жыл бұрын
I am not a fan of foregrips. It's hard to access the light pad on the support side with a foregrip. With that said, its great for people with long arms. I like the position of the light. It keeps it close to the hand guard so you wont get it stuck on brush or door frames..
@John-zs2eo
@John-zs2eo 2 жыл бұрын
I find that a weapon light attached at the 3 or 9 o'clock pic rail, with an end cap button, works best. I'm a lefty, and mount that light on the 3'oclock pic rail. I can use my right hand ring finger to activate the light while it's wrapped around the handguard, and if I need to switch to my weak side my left thumb is right there. I like the clean look of not having tape switches and wires all over. I don't use any grips vertical or horizontal on this weapon. You don't need it, and it's just more junk hanging off the weapon. You can achieve a very good grip at numerous spots along the hand guard right back to the cutlass or pistol grip. If you like it forward, you can adjust the lower rail forward to give you a bit more space and still keep your fingers off of the barrel while firing.

Vert grip isn’t all that practical for the x95 due to it being so in close to your body. Vert grips really aren’t practical at all actually… they teach you poor recoil management. An angled grip, grip stop or no grip at all is much better. I’ve got an angled on my x95, But with it so close to you, I don’t know how I feel about it yet, might take it off.
@iamcondescending
@iamcondescending 2 жыл бұрын
I have a Magpul RVG on mine, and I feel like it's a necessity. The rifle is way too short to comfortably hold the forend with out a grip (for me) the RVG puts my hand in a comfortable neutral position. When I get a light, I'm going to tape the remote switch to the RVG, so I don't see a problem with not being able to access a light switch.
@Frostbyte911
@Frostbyte911 2 жыл бұрын
@@iamcondescending vert grips just teach you poor control. Using an angled gives you more control over your rifle from your off hand, I’m not saying people should not use them, if you shoot well with it, great, but I guarantee you that proper grip with an angle or just a hand stop will help you have better control

Thanks for all the great advice. I was looking for advice about 1/3 coexist. I was hoping to see the iron sites in relation. I get your point about 1/2" being an advantage. I guess for close objects, you either look through the iron sites or just take that extra height into consideration. Appreciate your recommendations.

If you are running an X95 without a suppressor, do you have to worry about gas in the face?
@Tacticalfitnessaustin360
@Tacticalfitnessaustin360 2 жыл бұрын
No
@John-zs2eo
@John-zs2eo 2 жыл бұрын
Yes. I have owned this weapon for 4 years. The unused ejection port could do a better job at being more gas tight. There are some aftermarket ones available to help eliminate that issue. At the rear of the pic rail closest to your face is another spot for gas leaking. The presenter had a single MAGPUL rail cover marking the spot; however, along with the single rail cover, an IWI zipper pull can and should be placed under it, and it fits perfectly, to aide in additional blocking of the gas coming out at that location. In my opinion that gas leaking at the back end of the pic rail is of more concern as far as getting gassed directly towards your face, and that little zipper pull does the trick. Gassing IS more apparent when using a suppressor, so something like an OSS or other low pressure model helps. IWI's video with Tom Alibrando show's how to apply that little zipper pull. Have a good one.
