I've watched 3 or 4 speed flip videos and this one is by far the most helpful. I appreciate you saying how difficult it is and how long it takes to learn. I thought i was just mechanically challenged, but seems like I just need to grind it til i get it!

1:50 should make it clear to people that you're angling up before you do the flip and cancel. otherwise, people will think they're not doing it right and wonder why their car just goes upside down.

Something that takes way less time and practice is being able to recognize when your opponent is speed flipping by seeing their nameplate doing ballet then just adjust your kickoff to go a little slower. Jump right before they hit and you’ll get the advantage 90% of the time.

Thanks bro, good showing with the clock. Have seen a number of tutorials and came to closely understanding but I eventually gave up because I could never hit that training pack ball. Also my question for you .. i wanna learn to properly flip reset, how to turn my car when im following the ball in the air when my car is straight. For example i have air roll right binded, with what should i combine this? Like 5 on the clock or?

This is the easiest mechanic I’ve ever tried to learn in rocket league honestly it’s easier than a half flip you literally just press a twice with your stick slightly off-center and then pull back how hard is that?!

Asking for a friend. What’s the proper finger positioning when it comes to driving forward and boosting at the same time? Feels so awkward. Should i be using my index and middle finger at the same time? Or going back and forth with my index finger

My guy, this is the hard way to speed flip. I just taught my friend with the easy way and he learned in like 30 mins. 1. Bind your air roll to something you can hold while still jumping (LB, RB, or if you play claw). Mine are bound to X and B but I have paddles I use on the back. 2. Hold air roll, then flip cancel a front flip (like showm at the beginning). 3. Keep holding air roll until your car fully rotates. 4. Hold power slide so that you can land well. Thats literally it. It's just a front flip cancel. No need to worry about the 11 or 1 to the 5 or 7. No need to start holding air roll halfway through to adjust fully. Just front flip cancel while holding air roll. You can easily learn both directions too.

@@RhayaderGoesToTown if you want to speed flip both ways then yes. But you can learn all kickoffs with just one speed flip so not necessary

@kaydenberrett2873 just practice boosting through the whole thing to get it down. Then eventually you only want to boost until your about halfway through the flip. At that point you'll hit super sonic and boosting is pointless/wasteful since you're already full speed. If you watch pros you'll notice they still have approx 20 boost when the hit the ball because they didn't boost all the way through

FOR PEOPLE PLAYING ON PC; I quickly noticed going by this tutorial is almost impossible if you play on PC like me, so the way to flip forwards and to the side slightly is to use air roll, if thats confusing, Lsy5 has a good tutorial.

When I do it, my front wheels always land first. Should I pull the joystick back before the flip to compensate and land better ? That's a good video. it's the first time I try speedfips.

you just do it at almost the same time, literally like its one motion. you will start to adjust the timing unconsciously. i thought i was too slow as well but when i just started doing them at dang near the same time without really trying to time it i got way way WAY faster cancels. from over 120ms to like 40ms

Is it possible to cancel flips on console? No matter what my settings are it's never quick enough. Spookluke said it's not possible on console due to input lag, and I'm wondering if I'm wasting my time trying to learn this mechanic? I've adjusted my dead zones and sensitivities. All that did was give me weird camera shake when sitting still, or stick drift (it's a new controller).

Good vid, pretty much the same tutorial as apparently jack, you forgot to mention that they should bind the handbrake to air roll so when they land they don't jerk also, you should post training codes in the des for copy and paste

Need some clarification. On the flip cancel instructions you say to flip forward and then pull back immediately, but it looks like you are also tilting back before the flip. Important or Not?

It helps a little bit. It's not a make-or-break type thing, but can give you a slightly better angle on the flip and can help avoid scraping the ground (and losing a little speed as a result). Regarding the loss of speed - make sure you tap the jump button long enough to really clear the ground. Dragging your nose can really mess things up. Good luck!

Use air roll right if ur flipping towards 11 and use air roll left if ur flipping towards 1. Basically if ur slightly turning left (flipping towards 11) u want to flip right so u go straight, and if ur turning slightly right (flipping towards 1) u want to flip left to go straight.

Also using manual air roll just complicates things more so it’s easier to just use a bind for either left or right. Holding power slide (or drift) when u land also helps if u don’t get a perfect landing

I just feel like my thumbs can't keep up with what I'm telling them to do. I've easily spent 50 to 60 hours and I still can't consistently do this. I also can't practice it everyday with work but still id like to think I'd be able to do it by now

I saw another tut recently that said to use directional air roll left or right and push the left stuck straight up (so to 12) if you’re struggling with getting the angle, I.e you’re either side flipping or front flipping. Does this actually work? I ain't had a chance to try it yet but I've been trying the usual method for like 5 months now and still can’t hit the ball in that training pack because i’m probably side flipping -.-

Check if your controller is doing it's job correctly, I discovered that mine didn't allow me to point at 11 or 1 oclock
