@@Kelly-vp4wy agreed bro But some people have the money and need flexibility on when lessons are. If I had the money, I’d love to do it privately. It would fit more in schedule with my life lol

@@sayfszn6561 oh yeah, I think you’re right, I take private lessons every once in a while, they are excellent! I train 3-4 times a week and it costs me £65 a month, if I did that privately it would cost me £800-900 a month, l would do it if I could 😂

I'm 50 years old and started training when I was 43. Have always worked out and eaten clean, but have lived with severe Chronic Fatigue Syndrome since I was 19 (that was 1993). My medications give me a 3-4 hour window daily where I can function but I have to be careful not to overdo it and create excessive rebound pain and fatigue. So, even though I'm muscular and strong (5'7", 230 lbs, 13% body fat) I've ALWAYS trained to take my attributes out of it and focus on technicality. And I've had almost zero injuries, despite training almost exclusively with folks in their 20s and 30s. My motto is: "If you always train as though you're injured, you'll most likely avoid injury."

I 'm a big proponent of privates, but I think someone would truly be missing out on their jiu jitsu experience doing privates only. I've met so many good people along the way in class lessons.

I love my small gym. There is a max of 6 guys on any given night. So we get a lot of one on one with our professor. Some nights there could be 2 people and it’s our own little private session. And I don’t have to pay extra for it. 😎

Private lessons are great to button up moves but, nothing is better than round Robin sparring.

I've been taking private classes for more than a year now, and only recently rolling with strangers and the difference is huge. It's definitely the best way to learn technique, you're not gonna be better than people you're just gonna learn in a safer more consistent way. Btw: I'm not rich, I'm young and have no possessions or girlfriends, so I can afford to put 20% of my income into BJJ.

I tap early, and tap often. This last Friday I tapped out when someone didn't even have any sort of submission hold on me because my partner had weight on my neck in a compromising position and I didn't want to risk injuring my neck. It's just training so if something doesn't feel right I will simply reset. It's worked well for me 🤷🏽‍♂️

I love your advice! Not this, though. You are basically saying there is no culture of safety in BJJ. In a class it's a free for all. This is upsetting. We need a better culture of safety in BJJ.
