I can confirm, I was just metal detecting with a friend! And when I heard a beep, I told him to come over, he did, but a DIFFERENT stalker from outside of our squad found it first, and then the beeping was gone! So yes, other nearby players can find it before you if you are too slow!!

Double-confirm: have been running with a friend. When doing the quest for junk man we split the caches 50/50 because we can discover the same ones but once it’s turned into an iron chest it disappears. So if you find the cache before someone else make sure to dig it up first!! Once it’s in chest form it can’t be touched by anyone else so if you’re dealing with annoying faction members just pull em all out of the dirt before they get there and it’s all yours. They won’t see the chest at all once it’s out of cache form!!

I'm pretty positive it's shared. I may have it on recording I'll have to check. Myself and another stalker both had our detectors out and he found the cache first, as soon as he looted it mine stopped beeping.

I was just watching a different video showing how to metal detect and the man talked and talked and showed how to go metal detecting way overprepared and after 10 minutes I said there's got to be a better guide! Thank you for the quick explanation and showing yourself getting results and what it looks like in practice! it works while in your backpack but at a weaker range while having it out and holding it increases detection range at the cost of battery drain

The best way to get aluminum cable is to travel further, like going to the witch house lake at agroprom, I got like 50 cables going around that area for 10 minute once, but you should get around 20, more or less.

2:38 it literally took me like 5 mins of cache searching to confirm that this is true. I am all for shittalker and boasting but kinda sad that nowadays people are not even able to checkout stuff like this by themselves to confirm this is true or not. The caches are global and everybody gets the same ones, so you wanna head to a place with less players to maximize your chances.

They are not shared, if you take one nobody else’s can. Tested it out with someone and we each had to find our own

That's what he means by "shared". They are universal, meaning if you are in an instance with a friend, only one of you will get it. Pretty sure he explained it in the video but said it was a rumor.

@@othervillin3573 They found that they weren't retaining players into the Dump, so they re-specced a bunch of materials. Aluminum cable was one that was cut. All the info is down at the bottom of the December 20th posting on Steam.

this was a sh*post and i really didnt care if it got views or not. also when i was struggling to find any information about aluminum farming i didnt. then a 20+ minute video appeared and i had to sit through it; it had 2 minutes worth of content and it ticked me off so i did this video to save people time.
