Hello. I also took the courage to resign from my position as the Head of UX/UI at a global agency three months ago and, along with two friends, started my own agency. We have always been lacking in the technical side of things, as there was either an in-house software department or the brands we worked with had their own software departments. Now, working with small brands, we don't have the budget for coding, and we don't have anyone with coding skills. Therefore, I am now deciding which system to use based on budgets, and that's why I'm watching this video. But I can say that none of the options in the mobile area fully meet my needs... Bricks is better is most ways. For me though the biggest difference is builder load speed

Oxygen has been going the wrong way these days

Most builders can be lighting fast with the right optimisation, Bricks included since it doesn’t have some of the bloat that some builders have 👍🏻 so the short answer is yes 🙂

with Bricks, ive been able to get 95-100 on mobile for performance, seo, accessibility, and best practices without much effort or optimization plugins.

Super fast. The only thing necessary for 90+ is good hosting and self host google fonts

@@adamzonnis980 that definitely helps. but i mean. its insane! I have a 40 site multisite, not all locally loaded fonts and they all score over 93, some 100 - on mobile! love bricks.

To use bricks you need to activate it as the main theme, however you can still usen gutenberg or current pages in bricks theme. Also you don't necessarly need to build pages with bricks as bricks allows you to create a component which is called a template, this will create a shortcode which you can add anywhere in other pages not necessarly build by bricks.

And it was just when it got interesting...

Just to fill in for what was cut out, basically you could type 1fr and the items would then stack on top of each other for mobile landscape and below 👍

webflow is a saas product, bricks is a plugin for wordpress, if you want full control of your website, bricks is the answer. webflow, wix and the likes of it make it extremely hard to move to other services. With bricks all content is saved in a database (mysql) which you have full control over. Bricks does have a lifetime deal, meaning one time payment, others have recurring.

I use both. Bricks is more powerful, but also more practical and a lot smoother / faster. That being said, they follow more or less the same principles. So switching between both would be easy.

I like Oxygen too and they work in a very similar way. The guys behind the Bricks team have a great track record though and I feel the builder ui in Bricks feels faster. Also the guy who owns the company behind Oxygen once called it a "legacy page builder" which doesn't fill me with confidence personally. The same company behind Oxygen has released another builder aimed more at beginners called breakdance which I guess will be their primary focus in future.

⁠​⁠thanks for this answer !! I’m starting in design but I find myself spending all my time learning new tools. WordPress, Divi, elementor, webflow and now finding this oxygen and now this bricks lol. It’s exhausting…

It's so powerful when you need to pull dynamic data, loops etc. The code it outputs is super clean and your site will load super fast. It has conditions and a lot of cool stuff like masks etc

@@hadibratananda you should go for brick. The learning curve on divi is much harder

I still think the ui for page builders are way ahead personally. Maybe fse will get there one day.

​@@sam-harrison​ Dunno man, patterns and components are both UI now, and if you combine WP, ACF and Generateblocks you can do pretty much everything for a normal non-animation based website.
