YES, it's a great lens. So good in low light! Worth the extra cost vs the the stock Panasonic 12-60 lens. I use it primarily for video and does great. Shooting 4K 30 video I can pull excellent still pics from it.

40-150 R is by far the best bang for buck though. nothing comes close

Added benefit is for video work: parfocal when zooming and almost no breathing!

Hi Grant, thanks for this. I tested my 12-60 2.8-4 against my 12-60 kit lens, and to my surprise my kit lens was slightly sharper. It's also lighter. So I sold my 12-60 2.8-4 and bought a 25mm 1.8 to use in low light conditions-- works for me :). Maybe I just had a bad copy of the P-Leica lens. BTW I love and own both the G85 and G9. I really enjoy your channel, thanks

I own that and the Olympus 12-40mm 2.8 Pro, both are fantastic lenses.

The Leica glass be so good. I live off of the zoom lenses. I got the full range of 18mm-400mm with just two. Get plenty of bokeh despite what others say.

I almost pulled the trigger on the one on EBay for $690.00. But lucked winning a bid on a new one for just over $500.00 express delivered. Now to flog off the kit 12-60 and keep the wife a bit happier

As a raw shooter and expert editor I see no advantage over the Pana 12-60 at such a huge price difference.... My favourite is the Panasonic 14-140ii.. what a super all day lens. I took 27200 images using it this last 12 months...❤️

can the lease also be used to shoot videos??
