My biggest concern is with fallout new Vegas, I truly hope they don’t make a D1ck move like what we got with gta when they pulled the originals off the market and left us with a even worse version, at least now I can play the digital version with no bugs on the xbox series s, vs having to play the vault 3 lower sections and the bos sections on the 360 before going back to enjoying the Xbox one.

New Vegas was originally conceived as a dlc for Fallout 3 but then Todd felt that it would be better as it's own, full game.

30fps is horrendous. 60fps this day and age, is just barely "ok".

My two-bits as a corporate comms guy. The insights from "Decado" strike me as exactly like what a low-level worker bee -- think someone who wasn't out of school yet when Fallout 4 dropped -- might say. Everybody in the world who could get away with it in that office decamped to someplace else. And not just there -- everybody in the entire Greater DC region, across all industries and all of government. And, oddly enough, productivity by all measures went UP. And by all measures -- I mean hard, empirical evidence. Milestones. Dollars. Hours. Whatever metrics your function or department cares about. And the only people who cared are the people who 1) lost their jobs -- a whole lot of solid facilities and admin people. People who everybody loved because they could fix printers or get parking or mailroom stuff done for you eventually had to move on. Low-level and unvetted people working with highly confidential or sensitive business stuffhaven't had the same lax work arrangements. But the main thing that's BS is that the death of the CEO and senior leadership changes have had an impact on the creative side. There's just so much distance between that part of the org chart and the sausage making that might cause a delay on release. Microsoft has got them the resources they need. The creatives are cooking. They don't need to know about how discussions around marketing spend this fall and other outside-the-kitchen decisions.

30 FPS isn't a problem so long as it can maintain that 30 consistently. It's not ideal with competitive PVP but on the same token if everyone is locked at it, it's a non-issue.

Haha. Nice attempt to slide in on the food boxes. Pro tip: When possible, record it backwards. Start close to the product, properly focused, then pull away. It's really hard to push in and stop at the exact spot needed for proper focus. Most people also are smoother when pulling toward themselves instead of pushing away from themselves. If you can't record it backwards, don't expect auto-focus to keep up, put your camera in your 'final' position, manually focus it, then move to your starting position, hit record and do your best to get back to the final spot. I am running SSE AE. I have download setup of mods from the top modders plus my own. My battles are amazing so much so I can jump over the enemy while aiming firing my Bow. This is down to SKSE 64 and the Engine updates that the Modders have created. Maybe Todd the God should talk to these guys. They are some very intelligent people and may be able to help. Just a serving suggestion.

All I know that I can count on is that nothing Bethesda says can be trusted and the company is not capable of launching a properly working game. Since this is the case I can promise I won't be buying anything they release this year. The last thing I bought of theirs was released in 2017 and I waited at least a year before buying it on sale.

10:31 this was a universal change on SteamDB that affected almost every game. Beta2 was already a branch at Fallout 4, it just appeared again on 14th of March. Skyrim also had an update on kahlo. And Cyberpunk 2077 had an update of cdpr_internal_dev0 branch

Other than getting a REAL look at Starfield, what I'm really interested in is knowing what's going on at inXile. Potentially two new non-fantasy RPGs from them would be music to my ears.

I can't even imagine any experience at 30fps in a modern game... this not only makes for a poor visual feel, but it will also wreck response times on anything multiplayer. Might as well be a game based on killing players that warp around.

Todd owned 2% of Bethesda, so his equity was bought for $150M. In addition he was given stock incentives worth a similar amount to stay at Bethesda after the buyout. Needless to say, he’s pretty motivated to keep things running even if it’s his passion too.

30fps has been a standard for Bethesda games, I don't see why that would change even with the new engine. I agree with what Todd says, that I do not care much about FPS, as much as I do the actual gameplay and story being well made.

When starfield was originally shown off, I wasn't that hype about it but is been growing on me and now I'm pretty excited for it. Seeing a lot of classic Bethesda rpg systems come back is amazing and that alone has made be very excited. Also I believe that this game could very well spawn the biggest modding community for a Bethesda game. Bigger than Fallout 4 for sure. Could even surpass Skyrim in the future. It's in a perfect setting where grounded and not so grounded stuff would work so either side of the modding community could flourish. That was a huge problem with Fallout 4 modding. The setting is so specific so it locked people in only making a few different kinds of themed mods. Also the fact that we know modding was a huge priority for Bethesda in supporting from the start of this game and the start of all their next games so mod tools will get out a lot sooner I would hope and it will likely be a better modding experience for modders

There’s a lot of stuff you missed or just got wrong. I thought you would’ve brought up the Reddit post that speculated that the icons we saw in the date trailer was hinting at land vehicles. Jason Schrier said that the September date was definitely more realistic than the 11/22.

Too many games focus on graphics instead of the quality of the game. I honestly love lesser graphics if the game is worth it. Who cares how real or good it looks. The whole point of a game is to escape reality not imitate it.

When skyrim came out I played it on a laptop at .5-15 fps. I'll survive at 30.

You can trade in your integrity to milk fans with cash grabs for a couple years, but it always ends with a bloated corpse of a company that fizzles out. It is never the long-term solution. If Todd has been rallying to do games as they always have, then he cares about the longevity of the company more than shareholders. That's good.

It's depressing that Altman passed. I'm pretty sure that he was the only thing keeping Bethesda from being a garbage company that should sell all their properties (except elder scrolls) to other companies that ACTUALLY care about these properties like Obsidian.

On the topic of Redfall and the 30 fps lock. I recently played Dead Rising 3 on PC, an Xbox One launch game, which is locked at 30 fps. It was borderline unplayable. Playing at 60 fps or more, as most gamers have for years now, you get so used to it. 30 fps, which was standard 2 console generations ago, is unbearable. I don't care if it's smooth 30 fps, it is borderline unplayable for some people. Redfall needs to be delayed. Even if the game is good, most people are going to have a rough time getting used to it. If Starfield does the same thing, I'm going to be seeing more stars than I'm supposed to as my brain spins around while playing.

It does feel like they would be missing out if there's nothing Fallout wise for when the series launches. I can't really believe that they would be doing it on Unreal though after spending so much time updating the engine. Unless the engine is that bad and that's why Starfield has been delayed so much. But, really, I feel a surprise Fallout game wouldn't be too wild I'm sure Starfields mechanics are far closer to Fallout than Elder Scrolls so devs would have a running start when using the new engine on that.
