Yeah, you're almost definitely correct - I think the female God talking to Vishnu might not actually be in the Christian bible. The Corinthians passage goes on to say that neither men nor women are independent of each other in God, because although woman was originally made from man, man is now born from woman. The Genesis passage is about the consequences of sin for women, which is followed by the consequences of sin for men.

I think people forget the bible is a fucking book, so is Cat in the Hat.

They may be reading an actually opened bible but they're not reading from it...the second reading is from the New Testament and they clearly have the Old Testament opened. AtheistTower's point is that they are just reading quotes out of context. The Leviticus passage is one of many passages giving violent punishments for specific sins, the majority of which are directed at men...

That passage was written to highlight the hypocrisy of the religious leaders of the day, not to champion women's rights. Go back and read Leviticus and Deuteronomy.
