Thanks Dr Brant Pitre for all your catholic teachings. I can’t imagine how much l have learnt that l missed in my catechism lessons. I was born in a Presbyterian family but went to Catholic school and so l grew up with nuns and going to a Catholic mass all the time and l was the drum player during mass and l fell in love with the faith. My parents did not want me to convert to Catholic, despite the fact that my dad wanted me to become a nun. Ironical. However, l never converted to Presbyterian either snd as a teenager, l did not have any religion. So in my adult life, l made up my mind, and Catholic faith made me feel at home. So, l thank you for all the teachings and l thank God for drowning me into the Catholic faith despite the hurdles and that l am able to pray for my deceased family members. May God bless you and your family and all other fathers and Drs that are teaching us daily via internet. Just a request, can u teach us about Enoch and Noah and his children lineages. Thank you.

Am I correct in thinking that Corpus Christi started in the 13th century in the Dominican Order? It was felt that the celebration of the founding of the Eucharist on Maundy Thursday was too subdued because it was overshadowed by the commemoration of the Passion on the next day. The two are inseparable, but it was still considered that a day was needed to celebrate the institution of the Mass/Eucharist in a more joyful spirit of thanksgiving. The Thursday after Trinity Sunday was chosen as it was the first free Thursday after Eastertide [Pentecost was kept with an Octave at the time]. In more recent years the observation has been changed to the Second Sunday after Pentecost in many countries. I do not know when the festival spread from the Dominican Order to the whole Church or when it first became a Holyday of Obligation. I also I like the way the Eucharistic discourse in John 6 is read over 5 consecutive Sundays [Weeks 17-21] in Year B.
