They are the most successful, but not the best in terms of ability. You have to realize that Dave Mustaine influenced Metallica and Slayer in the beginning while creating Megadeth afterwards. All the bands share the credit of course; but Dave Mustaine was running circles around them while they were trying to come up with their style. So Dave Mustaine would be the old grandpa that doesn't take anyones shit because he knows none of these bands would be here in their present state if it wasn't for his influence. I don't mean to piss anyone off, I just worship Dave Mustaine :)

I know my experience was rare tho, Cuz ive heard from many others that he's kind of a stuck up dick at meet-n-greets.. My band got to hang with him for a while and he was perfectly down to earth..
