It’s great several years ago a family friend showed part of an episode to my dad and me. In 2018 my dad was having a bunch of health problems. He’s ok now. But in 2018 he was in and out of the hospital a bunch. And I said to my mom let’s check out the it crowd. It was so great to be able to laugh at such a difficult time. I realized at 45 that I had missed my opportunity to realize my potential. I was too caught up trying to live a 'normal' adult life, a home, a mortgage, medical insurance, a job, a family. It doesn't leave much time or money for the inspiring stuff. I used to be a musician, I used to try new things for the sake of trying new things. But if you want to be taken seriously as an adult, everything you do has to make you money, or it's a "waste of time". The hard part isn't doing what you're meant to do. The hard part is finding out what that is and having the resources to try enough things to know.

Pfft 45 isn't too old for anything. My mum did part time jobs for 30 years while raising a family and then went back to school and trained as a nurse at 50 because it was what she always wanted to do. The only real barrier to doing things when you're older is giving up and never trying.
@edcipriani8873
@edcipriani8873 Ай бұрын
Robot_spider - Not true, you didn't miss the opportunity to realize your potential, You can still do it, achieve it and make it happen. At 45 you have much more clarity and live experience which you have earned and accumulated. Yes, money is important, and we all need money to get through life, but money is not the be-all/end-all of our lives. You might want to make a re-assessment as far as your statement above: Everything you do has to make you money, or it's a "waste of time". That's not true. Sometimes in life we are looking outside of ourselves and we ask these questions about ourselves and our potential. But the other thing you need to consider is that as we are looking outwards, others are looking outwards, and are looking at us as well. Much of our potential is what kind of person we have become, and what others think of us, and that other people, family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, etc. - they might very well value us, and they very well can think the world of us, as we also think the world of them. It's not all about how we only see ourselves. Potential is measured by many other things that many times, we can't see at that particular time or moment. The word Potential also intertwines with the word Success. Find Ralph Waldo Emerson's definition of success, read it, and try to keep that in mind. Sometimes the reality is that we are too tough on ourselves, and we can judge ourselves way too harshly. Go easy on yourself. If you start working towards something on a regular basis, you can make some great progress. Now that you have this awareness, make time for yourself - even if it's just a small amount of time every day or a few times a week, and what's important to you and start the discovery process again.

Came back here to say that it's a good tv series. It's thought provoking, has some silly stuff in it but then again, humans are innately silly so it makes sense, and it's well, nice. It's relaxing and makes you feel kind of sentimental too. Looking forward to the next season as there was a massive cliffhanger in the last episode.
